Went and saw what's left of the plane today. It's crazy how close it is to the terminal... a couple hundred metres isn't much for an airplane.

Yeah. so did I. It wasn't THAT close to the terminal... but it was pretty close to the static displays... Luckily the crash location didn't affect the taxiing or landing/take offs.

Well that's a wrap on the show. Those who went down said it was alright. For me it's not a Lethbridge Air Show without the Snowbirds. Wetaskiwin gets them for 2 days, Rocky Mountain House for one, and Abbotsford gets 3 days. Not sure why our show was pushed up to July this year anyway. No CF-18 was the nail in the coffin. I'm going to try getting out to Abbotsford next year.

The last show I went to was 2007 where they had the Snowbirds... August 4 and 5. My point was the Snowbirds will be in Alberta in mid-August so I thought maybe that's when the show would be.

Snowbirds don't go to all shows every year. The team and a lot of the shows like to alternate with them to keep people coming back. There are also lots of other venues to cover, so someone has to get bumped. Lethbridge is a great show, I was there in 96. We had a blast.

BTW, for those who are concerned about the pilot, I have heard he was at the show on Sunday.

Was actually pretty good this year, even without the CF-18.

The A-10 Warthog was pretty damn cool.

Loved the Skyhawks too.

They never made any announcements at the show I don't think.

But a friend of mine met saw him after the accident, and he said he was pretty shoke up, but still doing okay.

The pilot of the A-10 saluted him during his flight. Was nice to see.

By Always, do you mean the last two or three years?

My anniversary is in the middle of August, same weekend as when the Airshow used to be.

I dunno, the first one I went to at least 6 years ago, I distinctively remember it being in July...

The A-10 was also there last year. But I miss seeing the MiGs and the snowbirds.

Looks like i'm going to Rocky Mountain house (it's small-ish , but it's cheap) and Abbotsford, as well as the one in Toronto

We had the Snowbirds up here in Yellowknife for our show this weekend, which was pretty sweet, but it was kind of disappointing not having a CF-18 perform like usual, oh well win some lose some.
