It is a lot of fun, i completely agree, the main reason i made the tuning comment in the first place.
Ive been to at least a dozen riders/stamps games at McMahon and never once had a problem nor created one, its always been a blast for me!

Except that, outside of Philadelphia, I've never heard of home team fans behaving that way without provocation.
But if you guys behave that way in Taylor Field as well, remind me never to attend any kind of sporting event in Regina.

I'll take the CFL over NFL anytime. How Americans can claim superiority watching a league where touchdown-less games are the norm, players stand around for close to a minute between plays and where the commercial to playtime ratio is about 15:1, is beyond me.
Then again, there must be something magical about watching a 250LB running back barrel through the D-Line for a sweet 2 yard gain.

I don't understand how anyone can be passionate about football and not like both leagues. I get being more passionate about one but to me the people who have no interest in one league or the other don't really like football.
Now I perfer the CFL mostly because I have a team that I can see but I also perfer the rules but I also actively follow the NFL. I don't know how you can like one and hate the other.

The only good thing about the NFL is there is enough teams to make a weekly pool fun.
Commercials make it impossible to watch live. Every stoppage of play there is a commercial. The only way i can make it through an NFL game is if i PVR it and delay the start by 20 minutes. and thats each half.

Are you exaggerating, or are you stupid enough that you actually believe what you just wrote? I'm not going to get in a debate about which is better because most around here know my stance, but that's about as insightful as me claiming the CFL sucks because it's two passes and a kick.

I know, eh? This is one of the funniest threads I've read in awhile. Buddy starts his thread off by trash talking the home team on a Calgary based message board, then defensively comments on how he will get trash talked. Well no ****, what the hell did he expect? Oh, woah is me.

I really don't think a lot of us are, your sample size is the vocal minority...or at Stamps - Rider games here, perhaps the majority. Having grown up in Regina, I have no choice but to bleed green. The Riders are in my DNA, and that's just the way it is. I don't think it's any different than someone who grew up in an NHL city but has moved to Calgary, they may cheer for The Flames (unless they come from a rival) but they cheer loudest for their home club.
I have no burning desire to see The Stamps crash and burn and take no great delight in seeing them fail...although I do have to admit the penalty which lost them the game last week did make me smile, but that's mostly from some of the comments made on this site. Mostly though, I'm happy if they have a successful season and happy if they win the cup. I'm happier if The Riders win though. I guess I'm pretty ambivalent about it and really don't feel there is or should be any huge massive hatred for Rider fans like there seems to be. I would think it more natural to hate Eskimo fans and leave the Riders and Bombers to themselves.
Honestly in this thread, taking an outside view, one could claim there are a lot of d'bag Stamps fans for all the "hick" comments, generalizations, and insults that are being tossed. I however don't believe that for a second, most of you are having fun and the "13" posts are pretty damn funny. It's just a game afterall, and it's only the CFL. It's not worth getting bent out of shape over.

I would agree there's an element of hyperbole in what I wrote, but no one ever does that on CP, eh?
Seriously though, my biggest complaint with the NFL is the commercials. Here's a typical sequence to start the game:
Kickoff, drive, punt, commercial, drive, injury, commercial, continue drive, challenge, commercial, touchdown, commercial, kickoff, commercial...
Anyway, here's some reading for you:
11 Minutes of Action

In response, with a similar amount of hyperbole, here's a typical CFL game:
Kickoff, dropped pass, incredibly horrible throw, punt, no yards penalty, fumble, wide open reciever due to horrid coverage, draw, dropped pass, rouge, blown call...
Place 2-3 commercials, played every single commercial break on a loop, in there at your leisure.

That's really only cable TV. If you get the NFL package there is a lot less commercials. In response, CFL isn't much different, their commercials are just shorter because they can run their league on about 1/100th the NFL can.
While the NFL needs billions in advertising money to sink into their league, I'm sure that the CFL can run an entire season on the 10% off ride-on lawnmower sale commercials that Canadian Tire pays them for. I still notice CFL to have a lot of commercials.. Series, commercial, punt, commercial, series, etc.

I love both leagues. I probably "care" a little bit more about the CFL simply because I have a team in my own back yard. However, if an NFL team picked up and suddenly moved here, my interest would be considerably higher for that NFL team.
Ideally for me, the best it could get would be CFL rules with NFL players. To suggest that NFL players aren't significantly faster, stronger, and more skilled is assanine.

More like they've got less commercials because they can't find anyone else to advertise during their games.

FurnaceFace nailed it, every franchise in any sport in the world has fans that people dislike.
This is nothing new. FYI those fans ruining your stamps games are most likely Flames fans as well, and they are also citizens of your great center of the western universe city Calgary.
And I do actually enjoy the 13 comments, unlike some other fans I can shrug stuff like that off and look at the lighter side. The 13 pack of Pilsners is awesome I just wish the photo shop was better. And ya, Sners come from Alberta, so again... everything you are beaking is pretty close to home for the Roman capital of Calgary. All praise the city of Calgary and its godly population, free of dirt bags! ... depending on who you ask

I would argue that the type of player that suits each league is different.
I don't agree with everything this guy has to say, but he makes some good points.

I thought they threatened his wife and kids as well. (I'm a bit behind on this thread.)
And really, it's the CFL and the Riders - what is there to get so wound up about? What is there to be so proud/epeen about?
