Default Deadwood?

Well I searched but didn't come up with anything. Has anyone watched this show? I'm into the third season it's pretty addictive. Kind of like a Shakespearian country show. Pretty good!

One amazing show that like many died before its time. Awesome characters with great dialogue, mixed with alot of interesting and authentic history weaved into the story lines.

Some of the most well acted television produced thats up there with the best that HBO has ever put out.

Love it - they only disappointing thing is that a rumored movie to wrap it up more never materialized.

Disappointing indeed.

As it is the series will go down as just as one of many underrated and unseen master-f-ing-pieces.

I'm just re-watching the second season as I got about halfway through it 6 months ago. I love it. Swearengen is writing gold and Timothy Olyphant as Montana is pretty wicked. All in all, the show is a masterpiece. Like Jiri said, it was before its time, but maybe in a couple years the movie can materialize...

Amazing show. Ian McShane was brilliant, one of the best ever characters on TV. I miss this show, wish they finished it.

I absolutley loved the first season, but I could only get through about half of the second one. I felt it really dragged and I just couldn't get into it. One day I'll have to go back and finish the series.

Amazing show, one of my favourites.

HBO can seemingly do no wrong... Entourage, The Wire, Deadwood are probably 3 of my top 5 shows.

How to Make it in America is a new HBO offering, pretty good so far. And East Bound & Down is one of the funniest things I've seen in my life.

HBO all the way.

Currently on episode 3 as per a friends demand. I really like it so far ... even if I only seem to be able to grab about half the dialogue. Damn prospectors.

I'm halfway through season 3 now. Just watched Dan fight in the thoroughfare. So intense, graphic, and brutal.

Things are really intensifying. I really wish that there was more than just 3 seasons. Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant shine brighter as the series goes on.

A friend loaned me the Season 1 DVDs, and the wife and I really enjoyed them. Haven't seen the other seasons yet, though. Is it true it ends rather abruptly with no real closure? If so, is it worth watching anyway?

Yeah the ending isn't entirely satisfying - likely because when it did conclude there was a lot of talk about a Deadwood Movie to really wrap things up - but it never came together.

That being said - it is still well worth watching in full - it only gets better particularly after the arrival of Major Dad.

Ian McShane has been knocking around since the 60's playing mostly pretty boy type roles, often with a crime aspect, detectives etc then all of a sudden does Deadwood and explodes into prominance, its kind of like seeing some guy you knew from the pub turn up on TV (possibly because he did at times drink in my local back in London)

seeing as its a show many have seen already, any chance we could use those fancy spoiler tags when discussing the specific story?

just started season 2...the wife and I are loving it

EDIT: thought this was a new thread about the show, didn't notice it's a year old
