It's stupid because there are two people involved, and arguably the man has an even greater ability to dictate the level of safety as he's the one wearing it. If a guy chooses not to wear protection he gets to face the consequences, nothing here indicates she was lying about carrying a disease or otherwise decieving her partners.

Pretty sure we use STD not STI, unless you're at a VW dealership.
Edit: I guess the terminalogy has changed, but last I heard they were STDs. Were they Subaru's?

Yup, apparently the term to use now is STI.
I actually had a teacher friend of mine correct me on the issue when I used "STD" instead.
