Why is Obama just sitting back and doing nothing!? Won't someone think of the children reception bars?!

I seriously think that the issues that are being reported, while real, are waaay overblown.

After doing some reading I am leaning toward buying a slightly used 3GS...
As I'm with Bell, do I just ensure (if buying one privately) that it's unlocked?
Can I purchase an unlocked 3GS from the US that used to be used with ATnT?
Or would I be better to wait and try and buy one locally in Calgary when the 4 comes out and more go up for sale?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I agree. But Apple has taken Microsoft issues and overblown them for so long that its nice to see Apple get a dose of their own medicine. Maybe they'll consider that before they make their next Mac vs. PC ad, but I doubt it.

Yeah, they deserve every bit of this bad press, but it shouldn't really keep people from buying the iPhone 4 if they like the iPhone.

Especially in Canada, where the issue will almost certainly not be a problem.

Apparently "he sits on the subcommittee of Antritrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights" so perhaps it's his job to keep an eye on what companies like Microsoft and Apple are doing.

Wall Street Journal reporting what "people familiar with the matter" said" more like, wow what an annoying piece.

As people have said before, in other countries this may not be a big deal. In the US, where iPhone users are tied to AT&T, its a bigger one. Outside of their magical "97%" land, many people struggle to get bars at all, so losing one if you hold the phone wrong is not helpful.

Why isn't there pressure for Verizon to move to GSM?

Because their customers are happy with their coverage? I would certainly not want them to switch. I love their coverage, sadly don't travel overseas, and very rarely feel any need to talk and use data at the same time over 3G. They're not going to build a new network from scratch just to lure the iPhone, especially with the success of Android.
The whole debate is practically over anyway, because 4G looks like its going to be focused on LTE across the board, although WiMax is kind of the CDMA of that battle. As far as I know, both AT&T and Verizon are looking at LTE for their 4G networks.

E) *Steve Jobs* "We have announced a 4 million dollar bounty on Grey Powel, Dead or Alive, as we almost had this worked out before that dip got distracted by some tail and lost his top secret phone, rushing the iPhone4ⓡ to market before I was satisfied."
My bet on C D & E and I do believe there will be a Canadian delay

GOAT!

I've got 20 bucks that says tomorrow's announcement will be that they are flipping the antennas around, so that the issue moves to the right side of the phone... thereby fixing the issue on the left side.
