oops, yes Frank is out of course.

Sucks that OLN is not running the recap show during the early evening this year.

sad to see Christian Vande Velde have to withdraw due to broken ribs.

Canadian Ryder Hesjedal had a great ride today as well, sits in 4th overall. Just ran out of steam before the stage ended. I was hoping his solo break would work out just a little better for him.

This is really cute!

http://gaps.letour.fr/us.php

Group of 5 being chased by everyone else, they'll surely be caught with only a 1 minute gap.

No crashes today that I know of.. going to be a mass finish at the end between Cavandish and Hushovd again probably.

Cavendish wins his 2nd straight stage. No movement in the overall standings.

Tomorrow's stage is the first hilly stage.. expect Cancellara to lose this yellow jersey.

Stage 7

He can climb and has a shot to be top 10. His team leader VanDe Velde is out so he is now the leader and his team will try to get him as high a finish as possible.

Cadel is in yellow, great ride by Schleck. And Lance is mortal. He loses 12 minutes today and is done. It happens to all the greats when they hang on a little too long. Saw it happen to Indurain as well. I salute you, sir.

Interesting how Lance handles the supporting role now for this team.

As was said on the broadcast, Contador does look vulnerable as he couldn't respond the Schleck's attack at the end. The next few days will have many guys gunning for Contador and will he be able to respond.

And don't forget our Canadian! He lost a minute to the leaders today but it was a great effort from him. He's now 6th overall.

After 8 Stages

1. EVANS Cadel 121 BMC RACING TEAM 37h 57' 09"
2. SCHLECK Andy 11 TEAM SAXO BANK 37h 57' 29" + 00' 20"

Canadian Hesjedal named new team leader

Hesjedal 'overwhelmed' by Canadian support

A top 10 finish would be remarkable!

No changes after today's stage. 6 guys broke away and won the stage over the main pack by about 12 minutes but they are so far behind.

Pretty much an easy rest day. Tomorrow is also a relatively flat stage. One mountain in the middle only.

Wow...what a crazy finish today...sprinting at over 50km/h for the last 10-15 km, and head butting at the front in the last km before Cavandish took the win...

WOOO!!

Hesjedal is in a group of 4 riders who are 40 seconds ahead of a group of 12 riders who are 3 minutes ahead of the peleton with only 34km to go!

He could make up nearly 4 minutes on Schleck and get him into 3rd!!

crap peleton has made up 1 minute on the last 13 km.

Hesjedal's group of 4 is still 40 seconds ahead of the group of 12 which is now only 2 minutes ahead of the peleton.

21km to go!

at one point the peleton was going 60km/h! insane!

Hesjedal out of gas on the last climb, caught by the peleton.

He's so dead he might even lose time.

Too bad
