Hopefully this means that the back-up position is up for grabs and not just automatically handed to Karlsson

Keetley's probably destined for the back-up position in Abbotsford.

One would think Irving has a much better shot at the backup role than Keetley. Keetley will most likely fight for the Heat's #1 spot with Irving.

Yea you're right, I just don't like the idea of players being pencilled in the position before even the training camp

I think the thing is you have to pencil them into a spot so you have a good idea what your team will look like, then you leave the rest up to the players themselves, im sure if someone works their ass off they can make the team.

I hope so, but I'm not convinced. I don't think we've seen a single surprise camp, outside of Armstrong almost making the team couple of years ago

Didn't Warren Peters make the team out of camp in 2008?

I can't recall to tell you the truth.
I just hope we can somehow dump Staios and get at least Pelech in.
And why did we sign Jackman, do we not have anyone on the farm that can do his job?

Warren Peters did make the team. Twas awesome. Except, I believe it was due to injuries to other players that really solidified that decision?
