So the obvious answer is to punish small business and attempt to harm citizens that have nothing to do with it?

I laughed at this one:

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

First you laugh because the government spent $1 Billion on security and they still had major problems, and now you think they should/could have spent a lot less.

And for some reason you think that people who set fire to police cars, and generally made the streets of Toronto a very dangerous place for everyone else, should go free simply because too much money was spent on security?

Seriously dude?!?!?!?

I assume 15-20 bullets would cost less than a billion dollars.

Probably more whiney people would come out of the woodwork though. Might be a wash in the end.

I dont advocate punishing small businesses, unless its deserved, but how did they attempt to harm people that had nothing to with it? Unless you're talking about the people running the small businesses.

They should of spent a lot less because events like this would of happened either way.

I have no problem with the police car being set on fire. Innocent people getting hurt however im obviously against. But ive yet to see where any innocent people were hurt by the "violent protestors"

The 2010 winter olympics in Vancouver's security bill was 878 million and it lasted 17 days and spanded over a greater area.

Yet, for some reason the governement needed to spend one billion dollars on security for this event..

Oh, I see, it's the old "There's going to be violence so let's not worry about security" plan.

Could things have (note the use of "have" instead of "of" btw) been handled differently? Probably.
Would things have been a lot worse if there was a smaller police presence? Probably.
Is any of that relvant to the fact that the guys who set police cars on fire should go to jail? Absolutely not!

Saying you think these guys should go free because the government spent too much money trying to protect people from violence that you think is inevitable, is one of the most ass backwards lines of reasoning I've ever heard.

And honestly, you use quotes for "Violent protestors" like they weren't violent, in the same paragraph where you condone lighting police cars on fire? Last time I checked lighting cars on fire was a fantastic example of violent protests.

Yeah, I don't think the Olympics attract as many radical, violent, anrchist protestors as the Olympics as the G20.

Seriously dude, stop using quotes around "Violent Protestors".
These are pictures of guys burning cop cars.
If that doesn't fit your definition of a violent protestor, I'd love to hear what does.

Id love to see the breakdown on how that one billion was spent on security.

Its a shame how many people are against the government spending that much money on security, but dont do anything about it.

Its a car, didnt hurt anyone.
If the government is willing to spend one billion on "security" they wont have a problem replacing some cop cars.

Yea, anarchist protestors are really going to affect what goes on behind closed doors at the G20, its not as if they ever got close to any of the "leaders"

I wish to protest against your posts and your line of logic. Please provide me with your home address so that I may light your car and your house on fire.

I mean its just a house and a car, I'm not hurting anyone.
