I love yesterday's pictures from Marmot Basin on the Weather Network and then reading today's forecast is 22 degrees. My English colleagues are LOLing.

I used to work at Calgary Flight Training Centre as an instructor from 2002-2004. Did all my flight training there as well from 2000 onwards. Now I just happen to work close to the airport and my love of aviation keeps me around and in the loop on happenings around YYC.

If hail destroyed every canola plant from here to the Saskatchewan border, I'd be happy.

Hey, I instructed there about 10 years earlier--1992-95 I think. Johnny still around?
Sounds like you are out of flying now?
And to try to tie this post back into the hailstorm, there was an interesting story on global news last night about the weather mod program and it's effects on severe thunderstorms (there was some footage with the C340). The program costs about 2 million annually, but is estimated to save 10's of millions per year in reduced insurance claims.

Probably depends on your coverage. I can tell you by experience, I had extensive hail damage about 3 years ago, and the windshield was covered, even though it wasn't under normal conditions.

In fact I went out of my way to find the car I wanted that had no body work or repainting at all. Now the car is thrashed, which is why I'm so pissed.
Speaking of OEM, I'm going to make sure if any panels are replaced, they are OEM. Even if they are used I'm fine with that.

Again, I had some experience with this. When I went to trade in my car last year (it had been hail damaged and fixed 3 years ago), dealers were offering about half of what it was worth. Their argument was that they have to explain the carfax/carproof report to potential buyers, and it would scare them away.
I decided to sell in privately instead, but even then people were cautious once they saw the report. It was the whole "Well, how badly damaged was it? Was it worse than you're telling us?" etc. Luckily, I finally found someone who didn't care since it was just hail damage and had been fixed.

lol that's awesome. Strange how it works. I just managed to get my first negative comment! "Fake and gay" ... I'm pretty sure that means the video can be branded as an internet success. It's now up to 5,500 views.

Does it show the video owner the IP address of comments? Probably not, if it did we could figure out which CPer wrote it!

a co worker of mine brought in some pictures today. the hail went right through his roof. It is an older home and was due to be reshingled. But it actually broke through the wood on the roof, which was solid.
It also shredded his siding, shattered windows and wrecked the exteriors of his vehicles.

Man what I wouldn't give to get a "fake and gay" comment on one of my videos. You've hit the big time.

Anyone with TD hear back from their adjustor yet? I was suppose to get a call back today but haven't heard anything yet. Likely pretty backed up I would assume.
