I'd like to see some real stats. Go ahead and prove me wrong, I probably am.

By my extrapolation, there are two popes per square kilometer in the Vatican. Canada has lots of square kilometers! We must have loads of popes

Without any real stats or info, all we can do is base it on our own experiences. I know two people right now that claim to be 100% average students. They are not people I'd see to be liars and people I see studying all the time when a big test is coming up, even when the family is out having dinner. They are in the Catholic School system though, I don't know if that has any bearing on anything.
One of my friends who averaged 100% in highschool 10 years ago ended up @ John Hopkins University. The other one has a masters in engineering but decided he was bored in that field and graduated med school last year. I definetely know for certain many people who have done it in Calgary. That's all that I can offer you guys.
I apologize that this is taking away from this girl's accomplishment, I'm happy she takes satisfaction from something that will definetely be a tremendous help in her life in terms of priorities or work ethic to be successful.

It's more like: "I know zero popes personally in Calgary, therefore I extrapolate that there are zero popes in Calgary" :P
Geez, Calgary puck is awfully hostile in the summer time. We need hockey season back.
Okay I admit, my statement was unfounded and based upon nothing but my personal experiences and likely a huge fataing hyperbole that I did not think through. I still think there are maybe a dozen students who average 100% each year.

Judging by your spelling I think we know you didn't get 100% marks in high school.

Not to dumb down her achievements, but in the International Baccalaureate program some courses just award 100% to the best student in the class and everyone else is adjusted accordingly. Additionally, class marks in IB are usually standardized in a bell curve with always at least 1 or 2 100%'s. Almost every student's marks get jacked up as a result, and make this story a bit less impressive. But on a side note, 6-8 hours is unreal. If she was on a sports team or played an instrument, she's done for.

I graduated with a kid in 2005, he was the only person to get 100% on every diploma exam in Alberta, I think it was. He was in the same boat, 100% in almost every class.

All I know is that when I was in high school (St Francis) nobody had a 100% average. For one thing it wasn't possible to get more than 100% in any course and outside of the math/science courses I don't remember anybody getting 100%. I had a 95% average which was the highest in my grade level. And no, I didn't study 6-8 hours per day. At most it might have been 6-8 hours per semester.

On another note.... I rarely studied, failed to hand in assignments (was bad at this in chemistry and english) skipped many many classes, and ended up graduating with a 69% average...
I feel so bad right this minute... but boy oh boy did I ever have fun in school.

I had a great time in high school and graduated with high 70s. Then took Engineering in University and didn't try at all and graduated with middle of the pack grades.
Now some of those keeners work for me. I think it's great.

GOAT!

What I find remarkable, is the crap that people will argue about.
People have no problems with a guy skating 8 hours a day for 16 years to make it to the NHL, but some girl studies 8 hours a day for 9 months to get a decent scholarship and accepted into a good post-graduate school... and all hell breaks loose.
Seriously?

Haha fair enough. The way I see it, the girl wanted to achieve, she achieved it, so good for her. That was her Mt Everest and she reached the top. For some people, its making the honor roll, for some people its getting a high school degree. In the end, it doesn't even really matter what others did in comparison to you, there are a lot of really smart and accomplished people out there that get no satisfaction; and there are a lot of hardworking people who aren't very accomplished that are very happy to achieved something they worked for.
Grades, status, et al... they act as a great motivator, but a horrible motivator.
