Got to ride a horse not tied to another horse for the first time ever this weekend. It was just a trail horse, but you can't imagine the urge I had to just push my girlfriend off her horse, jump on the horse and just ride into the sunset
This game does start to take over your mind a little. I was driving with my wife on the weekend and I nearly told her to pull over so I could pick some Wild Feverfew.... but didn't, out of fear of cougars.
So I bought a Kentucky Saddler in Mexico, and made sure to set up a campsite once I had him and saved so I could keep him(I think that's how it works, still haven't figured out the whole horse thing). Then I did a night watch and was killed, and now when I re-start at my campsite again, I'm back to my original horse. Where the hell did my Saddler go?? How do you make that your new main horse?(ie. the one that comes when you whistle)

I had that a few times, but if you just ride that horse for a bit it should change back to the saddler. I think it's just a glitch that changes the colour.
If it doesn't change back you just have to do what getback said.

Anybody else get stuck in spawning points of animals? I had a group of 25 wolves come at me (I gave up skinning them after 19)...while trying to pick the old guy's flowers.
I finished the main story line the other night and I thought it was one of the best plot lines I've ever seen in a game. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
The side stuff though got a little tedious though. After spending a large amount of time trying to kill two cougars with my knife - being asked to get 5 skunks, raccoons and foxes seemed a little anti-climatic and I couldn't be bothered to continue on the master hunter tasks.
How many people actually got the 100% completion achieve?

Not me.
Rockstar has put in this 100% completion thing to make you buy the game. Some people I know get some sort of thrill from hunting the entire GTA map for pigeons and stunt jumps.
Maybe if they awarded me with Xbox live points instead of Gamerscore, it might be worth it. Then again, you shoot one pigeon you have shot them all IMO.
I only did the sharpshooter challenge to level 6 in order to get the Buffalo Rifle. Never bothered with treasure hunting either.

The game is nice but I haven't picked it up much in the last month. I'm at 47% and a finding it a little tedious. The only reason I am remotely interested in finishing it is because while managing to avoid spoilers it looks like the ending is worth it. I won't be doing all the horshoe/flower/bounty type missions.
I got 100% last week. Was awesome to get it. The bounty missions were annoying for me. There are 20 of them to do and I hate riding around the map over and over again.
This 100% was definitely easier than the GTA IV one, which I still don't have (I have all the pigeons though).
The multiplayer missions added a lot but I just don't find myself going back to play it without friends, it is boring now by myself.

Ha, I loved all the 'ambient challenges'.
I was a little worried they would get tougher as the game went on, but I finished the last few without much trouble. Come to think of it, I think the killing the cougars (and bears!) with the knife was probably the hardest. I cheated a little and softened them up with some bullets before jumping off my horse for the kill. Fully killing the bear with a knife would be damn hard. I think I've got 5 swipes in on a bear and it still didn't kill him.
The treasure hunter challenges were really fun and different. You had to keep your eyes open for the features pictured on the map. Very different from the other activities in the game.
Also, you get some pretty good perks for finishing all the ambient challenges (increased dead eye, killing animals and picking flowers gives you medicine/tonic). Would really help with the story missions...
I got a little tired of the story line missions. I haven't completed them yet.

Once you hitch him to a post he becomes 'your horse'.
Who did you guys get on the back of your map? I got Bonnie which needless to say is pretty boring. Not that I'd hang it on my bedroom wall or anything but I'd rather have John or Irish or something.
Yeah, for $10, Undead Nightmare is a pretty good add-on. It got me to pick up the game for the first time since June.
The story is pretty short though. I didn't really expect it to end when it did. It felt like it was starting to ramp up to something more, then it's over. I wonder if they ran out of time to hit their pre-Halloween release date?
Plus, how awesome is the unicorn? (no spoilers in the video other than seeing the unicorn)
Rainbows and butterflies.

i'd like to play this, but for some reason the Playstation Network won't accept my credit card that xbox live has no problem with
I have the exact same problem with my credit card.
You can purchase PSN gift cards though and add the money to your account that way. It's kind of annoying being forced to buy at least $20 at a time, but there's enough good content out there that it's not hard to spend.
I lost interest half-way through Mexico but glad I stuck through it because the ending to this game is really good. I still suck at showdowns though...half the time I'm awesome, half the time I'm absolutely terrible.
May look at picking up the Undead Nightmare thing...I've heard it's pretty good.
