I salivate every day on joystiq looking for Arkham 2 information.

NHL 11 I hope will be good, but my expectations have been tempered by how underwhelming I found nhl10.

there is only one, Mass Effect 3. i still put in regular time with ME2 despite beating it half a dozen times now. i feel what Star Wars fans must have felt like after watching The Empire Strikes Back in theater and having to wait for ROTJ to come out

thankfully Bioware has been much better with the downloadable content this time around than they were for ME1. the Kasumi and Overlord addons were fantastic

They should have just released a board play and animation download package, that's the only difference.

Could have just patched it one year and then blown this nhl11 up.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of NHL10. It didn't impress me as much as 09 did.

I'm really only looking forward to 11 for the same reason I'm always looking forward to the new NHL game. It's the new NHL game.

I stopped looking forward to games in my early 20s. I only look forward to playing old ones again. If I ever buy a PS3, the first thing that I will do is download Wing Commander IV for it to see how it plays.

I look forward to my next visit to www.abandonia.com and when I am able to successfully build a MAME box for my TV. I look forward to finishing some of my Sega Dreamcast games.

New games are all the same. There are so many genres that have disappeared. To make things worse, they are usually stuck with console level graphics, are in 3rd person with console type cameras, and designed for console controls. Even if they have first person, they are stuck with console field of view, etc.

Give me Wing Commander V with full motion video in HD and fully explorable interiors in first person view with at least 75° FOV along with space combat, etc. with Eyefinity support in DX11 and I will look forward to it.

Err... alright.

No offense by why did you post in this thread if you don't like new games?

I'm only planning to get Civ 5 and Fallout: New Vegas. I'm too far behind in playing the games I've already bought to get more than those two. But I'll probably get NHL 11 because I do every year.

I just barely upgraded to Civ 3. IMHO the Civilization franchise is the most replayable in video game history.

Always liked alpha centauri more than civ, but I'll be picking up civ 5 undoubtedly.

Does it get any better than empire building games?

Not much!

A game I fell absolutely in love with is Europa Universalis III. Released in 2007 with three expansions since then, and a fourth on the way.

LittleBigPlanet 2
Twisted Metal
Infamous 2
Arkham Asylum 2
Sly cooper collection
The Last Guardian

LittleBigPlanet remains for me among the most original and fun gaming experiences of my life. Twisted metal is pure nostalgia. Infamous was one of the best comic-type games I've ever played, as was arkham. Sly Cooper (as mentioned above) was brilliant platforming and trophies are more than enough to revisit those games. Shadow of the colossus is antihero game that was highly original so I'm pumped to see what the last guardian is like.

Yea, I noted in a different post a while back that I picked up EU3 and the expansions about 3-4 weeks ago now. Fantastic game. Never had heard about it before, but I've had a lot of fun establishing british/netherlands/papal state empires.

Now I'll start looking into other paradox games!

Don't own an Xbox and don't really play too many games anymore. But I will buy Starcraft 2 when it comes out and probably play it way too much. I'll run through D3 once or twice too.

I'm not looking forward to Starcraft 2. I looked forward to Warcraft 3 and was utterly disappointed. Fool me once...

Games I AM looking forward to:
Chaos Rings HD - iPad
Professor Layton & the Unwound Future - Nintendo DS (Sept)

Also, Final Fantasy Tactics is coming out for the iPad in September. I have the game for the PS1 and the PSP and have played it from beginning to end 8 times, so I doubt I'll buy it just for the novelty of having it at hand all day....

I was looking forward to the new Dragon Quest until I found that it was just for the DS. The small screen doesn't seem right for RPGs. DS is fine for little puzzle games but it seems much too small for most games.
