Cavani scores

Muller is actually in the lead right now

the 2nd tie breaker is most assists, he has 3 to Villa/Sneijder's 1, 3rd tie breaker is least minutes played and he missed the semi final with suspension so he will win that one

Didn't know there was a tiebreak, images of Iginla, Kovalchuk and Nash with the rocket richard I guess.

Would be great to see - he has a bright future ahead and it's always great to see a player burst onto the scene and really shine at the world cup at such a young age.

Soccer is fun when nobody cares and nobody defends :P

I love how Suárez got boo-ed every time he was on the ball.

So the big one is tomorrow.

Really no historical data to draw upon.

Spain and Holland have never met in a senior tournament ever.

netherlands totally kicked their butts in the 80 years war!

I think it's going to be good. Spain is the better side pretty substantially in my opinion but Netherlands has the advantage of having watched Germany fail miserably in attempting a counter attack strategy against them and should be able to make adjustments. They also have in de Jong and van Bommel two of the best ball winners in the tourney who might be able to counteract Spains mid.

If Spain manages to dominate possession again in the centre of the park this is going to be one sided but their defense is super vulnerable to a speedy attack if de Jong/van Bommel can turn over the ball at all. Pique and Puyol have poor foot speed, someone like Robben or Elia could expose them.

Expecting a Spain win, cheering for Netherlands!

I'm cheering for the damned Dutch, but like the octopus I predict a Spain win.

I took Espana to win it all before the tourny began so I'm not going to change now.

I simply think that Spain have too many horses for the Dutch to handle. Torres to score his one and only goal in the final.

A lot of people thought the Dutch would lose to Brazil and they prevailed, I'm hoping for a similar scenario tomorrow.

The Dutch haven't played their best yet, hope they saved it up for the final. Be nice if Van Persie was a major factor tomorrow.

I was reading Soccernomics last night (Thanks for the recommendation guys) and I just loved the part about England's pattern of World Cups! Hilarious stuff.

Forgive me for listing this but it's just too uncanny not to. The authors must have loved seeing this:

Phase 1: Pretournament: England will win the World Cup (Check)
England were one of the pre-tourny favourites.

Phase 2: England meets a former wartime enemy (Check)
The Germans!

Phase 3: The English conclude that the game turned on one freakish piece of bad luck that could only happen to them (Check)
I think that we can all safely say that the Frank Lampard goal was that freakish thing!

Phase 4: Everyone else cheated (Check)
They always do.

Phase 5: England is knocked out without getting anywhere near the cup (Check)

Phase 6: The day after, normal life resumes
(Check kinda)
The English press slated the team and rightly so but the missed call was brought up a lot.

Phase 7: A scapegoat is found (Check)
The entire team, mainly Rooney, and one South American ref linesman are in focus here!

Phase 8: England enters the next World Cup thinking they will win it. (Almost certainly check!)

That was just too funny. The authors certainly nailed this one and then some.

I'm really enjoying the book so far and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Yup it's the battle of the struggling frontmen Torres and Van Persie.
Let's see who can get a goal.
