This guy is awsome, I say a dateline thing on him a few months ago. In the Seattle area people started leaving food out for him. He is more of a scavenger than a bandit. When he breaks into people houses he just steals food and doesn`t make a mess of the place.
The people being interviewed treated him like somekind of folk hero. He must have gotten better at flying because he crashed the first few planes he was flying.

He may have stolen a 44 foot boat and fled Bermuda now too.

He's stolen, what, 5 planes now? He's got the take off and everything else down now but he really needs to work on those landings.

This guy's a tool. While he's landed without dying in those planes, he's damaged all of them. Imagine you spent a whackload of money going through flight lessons, then split with 3 other people to buy a plane, and your share's still around 40 grand or more...then this clown comes in and wrecks it.

Now, if this kid is as smart as he seems he is going to completely disappear for 7-10 years. At that point he will return to the US, write a book or three and do a ton of TV specials/interviews. Then he will live comfortably for the rest of his days.
To head off those who think this guy is a "stupid criminal": Criminal or not, to pull off this many and these kinds of crimes without being caught you have to be very smart.

A thread about me... Cool!! It's even more amazing I'm able to do all that and post on CP at the same time.
Seriously though you can't help but root for the kid.

I don't care. That doesn't make theft ok, ever....you must live in a nicer part of Winnipeg than I come from.

He didn't say the theft was "ok", but just saying that they were all insured.

So stealing stuff is cool if the victim has insurance? Seriously? That makes you 'root' for someone?
He isn't 'stupid' in terms of intellect, but he is an idiot. And anyone who thinks being a criminal is cool.....

Its more of a Jean Val Jean thing. He steals to survive living a different lifestyle. It makes him an anti-hero. And when he breaks into people's houses he doesn't trash the place or steal valuables. He just steals food and leaves dirty footprints on the floor.
There is something almost noble of living off the grid like this and occasionaly steel a few things. It speaks to our desire to escape society.
