See! Soccer players can be pretty tough when they are not busy acting!
Ouch.

Forlan! My goodness, how good has he been this tournament? Unbelievable.

That was not a bad shot but some bad keeping for sure.

That ball curved, a lot. Defense wasn't as tight as they needed to be though.

Not sure how to feel about that one, it was not the best keeping but that was a rocket and it had some vicious curve on it. Plus tricky with the way it came around the defenders head.

If you think there has been controversy or drama in this one, I suggest you look up 1930.
What a crazy tournament. They only secured a referee 3 hours before the final when they agreed to have a boat waiting at the harbour so the Belgian referee could flee immediately after the game.
Most of the controversy seemed to involve the Argentines!
|
And they used to different balls in the final! One from each country.

I'm leaning towards Uruguay now, they're playing very hard while the Dutch are just loafing around.

Netherlands are really not looking convincing tonight. Playing alright but the winner of this game will be pretty big underdogs in the final.

Funny, that sounds a lot like what they said in.....2010?
The 'White Pele' is looking like a huge bust, I think almost all of the major English players are hugely overrated.
|
Huge bust is a little much, he was the best player this year in what is still the best league top to bottom in the world. Also the league with the most foreign players so he is not only playing against English players, and he scored 5 goals in 7 Champions League games. He carried Man U by himself this season and obviously was spent doing so.
He had a bad 3 weeks, doesn't erase what he has done his entire career
