Doesn't really show much on the user celebrations other than there's new ones. And even then, they don't look too impressive, so I'm interested in seeing how many more there are. I like the real-time physics but I think they've beaten that to death. I'd like to hear more on other features like online changes and Be a Pro/GM refinements.

With all due respect, the up to 11 other players in the game couldn't give two sheets about your "distractions." Don't waste our time.
Control the room that you're playing NHL10 in. Keep your phone by your side. Make sure you potty before you play. If you're not ready to commit to a 25 minute game, please stick with offline play. There are plenty of fantastic offline modes to explore!

Personally, I'd rather someone pause the game for 30 seconds, then be playing in one of these "no pause" rooms and have to leave their guy do nothing for 30 seconds. This will obviously happen to the goalie, and then someone will score, and both teams will quit. KEEP THE REPLAYS/PAUSES.
|
Despite the pauses, there still are plenty of abandoned players as is. I don't think eliminating pauses would make it worse.
Like I said before, at least have a room with no pauses. I would bet it would be very heavily used. Games would be 20 minutes tops.

Oh boy, well you're going to get ripped by about 4 people.
I totally agree with you though.
If they don't want to take replays/pauses out fine, but at least make lobbies where I can turn them off, it's all I ask. Like you said "fast tables at poker", which is exactly what they need.

I'll keep that in mind when the kids are banging on the door to my 'controlled room'.Also, there's only 1, not 11 other people playing that I have to worry about as I tend stay out of OTP mode. Head to head is one of the other 'fantastic game modes I explore' Glad to see you can take some time out of your day to avoid any and all responsibilities. Not all of us can do that, and still enjoy to play with other people online.

No offense, but why are you even arguing on a point that you have no interest in. We are talking about OTP games (Online Team Play), where there are usually 10-12 people in every game, where there 4 pauses for each team.
It is the OTP games that are the problem, if anyone actually read my posts you'd have noticed that, rather than skim them and then bash me for having a "stupid idea".
The Ranked games are fine, I rarely play someone who doesn't skip replays and pauses, those are quick. I could play 3 of those in the time it takes to play one OTP game.

Didn't think I was bashing you. I obviously missed the OTP acronym. Hence why I thought there were only 2 pauses.

Not you, the other person seemed to. No matters, I just like to complain I guess.

I heard one idea thrown around, if one player needs to pause, they can press start and have their player CPU controlled until they get back. That way there can be distractions but it doesn't stop the game for everyone...

This can be abused though. I remember we ran into a 3 man team with a human goalie. After every faceoff they'd pull the goalie and return it right away so it would now be under cpu control.

Yeah I've seen it be abused already with players starting the game (for example a center with 99 faceoffs) then quitting and letting the CPU control their player. I guess some people will take any chance they get to abuse the system... I just hope they fix that damn faceoff loop "glitch".

I think we should outlaw wireless connections as well as anything below a T1 line.

A T1 is half the bandwidth of the slowest residential broadband Telus offers (T1 is 1.5 megabits)

God effing dammit with the boosts. Fata you EA you money grubbing a-hole son of beach balls. Boosts ruined online team play.
Yes, they say you can unlock them all in a week playing the game offline, but to do some of the requirements is just asinine and tedious.
If you're charging for boosts, at least fix some of the damn glitches in the game!
