It's nice to see CONCACAF demonstrate the quality of our games on the world stage. This is like a Canada qualifier with all the mystery decisions.

Probably the most blatent penalty out of that whole cluster#$#@ was Fabregas getting tripped by the keeper with no call.

First Spain penalty was crazy. Disallowing the goal for a foot in the air over the line was ridiculous.

I thought when Alonso's shot got saved it was gonna bounce right back to him for the rebound and be the same as his goal in the CL final, on the other side of coarse

Was the announcer high on drugs? Of course the ref won't blow at 3 minutes when there was an injury during the added time.

I miss John Helm, can't he just do the rest of the games please?

Ya a good 45-60 seconds of time with Ramos on the ground and getting treated. That was quite the kick to the head he took.

Really looking forward to both Uruguay-Netherlands and Germany-Spain

Why can't the semis start tomorrow!

players need a bit of rest, we could probably use some too.
The last 2 days have been wild!

I know, the quality of play and the drama has just been building and building.

I wonder if anyone has seen a list of players on a yellow card for the semis? Hopefully we don't lose any stars for the final, it was too bad about Muller who has played amazing.

Cards are wiped out now. Nobody will miss the final unless they get a red.

Speaking of bad announcing:

BBC commentator Steve Wilson live during ARG-GER: "I don't know who that is, must be somebody's WAG."

The camera was on Charlize Theron.

there was a hell of a lot more than just a foot over the line, the players ran though the D at the top of the 18 yard box and were almost in the box before the kick. If you're inside that area you are encroaching.

That's enough to be interfering with play.
That's exactly what I thought.

From FIFA LOTG:
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position

From someone who doesn't quite like Spain but want to have a dream final of the powerhouses, I like Spain to win. It was one of the most dramatic finishes I ever seen, bizarre, weird...

- Paraguay's PK should have been retaken because Spanish players encroached.
- After Spain retaking the PK, Alonso is it? got tripped on the ground, to me, it should have been another PK.
- Paraguay's defender should have got a Red Card for avoiding an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

Overall, I am happy to see Germany vs Spain in the Semi.

Deutschland Uber Alles!! Maradonna should stick to drugs and not whine about which call went to who's benefit. Pot, meet Kettle.

Germans again not getting their due respect. They tore a pathetic Argentina apart. Good call Diego, Tevez, Messi and Higauin on all at the same time.

Anyways, posting from a bb as I'm in transit, managed to watch all the games still.

If that's the best Spain can do, as a German fan, I'm not worried. That was pretty poor.

They are from me. They are quite possibly the most devastatingly brilliant counter-attacking team that I've ever seen. They are scary good at it. Spain will have to be at their absolute best to survive. It promises to be a classic.

Heh, Argentina couldn't even manage a goal against the Germans while England, on the other hand, potted two. (Well they did!)

And I think someone posted this before, I think I did after the Netherlands won as well

but calling the supposed death of European football went well for all the prognosticators

Yeah that was me, I thought all that talk was premature too. There's no doubt at all now. Germany, Spain, and Holland have looked like a good match for anyone.
