I don't like diving and I'm not defending it but I do accept it and accept how other countries view diving. They don't think it's a big deal at all. There hasn't been an outrage from the World's press about the 'dive' yesterday.

So you'll have video replay for flagrant dives. And this is determined how? What is a flagrant dive? It is subject to interpretation.

So Capdevilla got clipped in the nose we think, and we're not sure how hard and what angle so we just dont know... so what it your verdict? You better be 100% sure if you're going to starting kicking players out or as some others have suggested, kick the entire team out of the tournament.

Well of course its up to interpretation, but so are the calls made on the field at that moment. If those calls are OK and subject to interpretation then there should be no problem?

Yes I think so, it's in the flow the game. Players adjust to how the ref is. I'm not against what you're saying, just think it's a little dangerous that to reviewing everything either during the game or after the fact. Especially for fouls which is always a grey area.

The United States' 2-1 loss to Ghana in extra time, which eliminated the Americans from the tournament in South Africa, was the most-watched men's World Cup game ever in this country.

The Nielsen Co. said Saturday afternoon's game was seen by an estimated 14.9 million viewers on ABC. An additional 4.5 million people watched on the Spanish-language Univision.

Nielsen said only the 1999 Women's World Cup final, featuring the United States and China and played at the Rose Bowl, had more viewers for a soccer game on an English-language network in the U.S. That game averaged just under 18 million viewers.

A chart detailing where players in the World Cup play domestically.
England, Germany and Italy are of course a straight line!
No Nigerians play in Nigeria

Spain as well, only 3 guys play outside of Spain (Torres, Fabregas, Reina)

makes sense with those being the 4 biggest leagues in the world

Now if a soccer game could only be 1/5 as exciting as that Roughrider/Alouette game it might have some legs here in Canada.

Brazil - Netherlands about to start.

What's with the huge anti-racism stand? Have they been doing this at other games as well?

Holy crap, there are some cute girls in the crowd.

No matter how many times I see Brazil, they still look weird in blue :P

Big game for the Japanese ref, hope he does well!
And I think the anti-racism thing might just be today.

Ha - yes, the timing of this anti-racism announcement is far too coincidental.

Wow. Brazil scores early and it looks like they are all over the Dutch. If Holland doesn't change something, this will be ugly.

Dutch defense line is too high. They were lucky Dani Alves was offside on the first goal that was dissallowed. Brazil midfield is easily pushing the ball through.
