Looks like a third or fourth dependent on performance. Good pickup for the Skins, and a possible third for a guy that was never going to play another snap is decent for the Saints.

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Rams have signed Windsor, Ont., native Oshiomogho Atogwe to a multi-year contract.

The signing was announced Wednesday. Terms were not immediately released.

Ravens have agreed to a one-year deal with former Rams starting quarterback Marc Bulger. Base value of $3.8 million. Also has incentives.

Good insurance if Joe Flacco goes down. I think this end for Troy Smith in Baltimore.

That is money NONE Of them will ever recover...ever.

I think this all has to do with how the PA is going to fight the NFL next year.

I will say to the PA...good luck with that.

As stated above...the owners make money after this season even if they dont play a game. Thats how they situated themselves with respects to the TV deal.

I really hope he gets picked up somewhere and gets a real shot, I liked him in college and I think he was really developing a great leadership attitude after being drafted. In not for contracting a tonsil infection at the worst possible time, he may be the starting QB for the Ravens today. He's a fun player to watch.

They dont make money, they just get it in escrow correct and dont have to repay it until the end of the season - at least that is what I have heard. Its not free money even if there is no season.

If the PA can lock up and be strong enough to hold out until then - then they have a shot. But these guys not signing their tenders is crazy, they need to save as much money as possible for next year.

The owners wanting players to help them pay for new stadiums is one of the most ridiculous notions out there.

Also a bunch of billionaire white owners arent going to get any love from anyone if this strike lasts for any amount of time. Its a game of chicken and I think the NFL has a big time gambler at its top position which the NFL needs to be very worried about.

The NFL Players Association filed a complaint Wednesday, claiming that the language in the league's television contracts acts as a form of lockout protection for team owners, guaranteeing them revenues even if football isn't played in 2011.

The complaint was sent to the special master who oversees disputes between the union and the league. The union would like the $4 billion in TV money put in escrow until a new collective bargaining agreeement is finalized

Former LSU free safety and relief pitcher Chad Jones was seriously injured in a car accident this morning. He was drafted by the NY Giants and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Reports are that he was conscious when EMS arrived, and that he has pretty heavy leg damage.

Christian Cunningham, who would have been 3 in December, died after being found floating in the backyard hot tub, according to friends of the family. Randall Cunningham performs baptisms in the hot tub at his home, which is near the church.
A woman at Cunningham's house was with several children when she found the boy at about 4:30 p.m., Las Vegas police Lt. Dennis Flynn said. She removed the boy from the hot tub and began performing CPR. Paramedics took the child to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus, where he died, Flynn said.

^ My son is close to the same age. Something like that is my worst nightmare. On the other hand it kind of pisses me off. How does a toddler have access to a hot tub unsupervised? Accidents happen, but they can usually be prevented. Especially in a case like this.

How does a parent go on after a tragedy like this? If I left a cover off a hot tub and my son drowned in it, or any kid, I think I would kill myself. Such a horrible tragedy.

One of our policemen at the airport had the same thing happen to his son last summer. He was being watched by his grandparents at his house and fell into the wading pool in the back yard.

How could you go on as the grandparents? The officer took a few months off, but is back at work. As a father of a 4 y/o and a 3 y/o, I don't know how I would handle it.

Thats the thing, most parents would have eyes like a hawk and would not let their kids out of their sight unless they knew the environement was save. People who are not around toddlers on a daily basis might be more relaxed in their monitoring of the child.

In the Cunningham case, if the child minder was watching several children at once, its very easy to get distracted. That is why you can't have a hot tub without a secured cover in the vicinity.

Escrow was the wrong word to use - didnt mean to tie it in to what the PA wanted.

But from what I have read from profootballtalk the money is not free if there is no season. They get the money up front and they can use it for operating costs but at the end of the season if there was no NFL football then they have to pay it back either at the end of the season or at the end of the contract.

The owners have the early leverage but if the above is try the PA has the leverage the longer the lockout goes (of course the longer it goes the higher the probability of them not getting paid for a whole year is.
