When Germany went up 1-0 on that beauty (ugly if you're England) first goal . . . . . I went for a long, long bike ride.
Was just laughing at this post by an English friend of mine on Facebook:
£6 million a year 4 that clueless italian idiot ! , when u are chasing a game .... You bring on a goalscorer , Capello brings on Heskey ... !
hahaha . . . . yeah, that about sums it up. So much for being an England fan for another four years.

Seriously, WTF?
Surely Crouch on, if Defoe had to come off for whatever reason, was the much better move. What has Crouch done to Capello to get overlooked so much?
Capello has to take almost as much blame for this World Cup as the players imo.
Ya I am just assuming Capello was saying F U to England and the fans with that one

4-1 scoreline not withstanding this thread needs this video. Shockingly bad decision.

Wow way over. Yes they've been calling for it for years, I seem to remember a high profile incident with Man U a few years back.
Is there a reason why FIFA has resisted it?

The usual reasons. It would become a farce and take too much time.
See?

there have been so many incidents where people say "this will be the one that changes it", that it probly wont happen

IF the match had finished 2-1 the outcry for the use of the technology would be from the rooftops and then some. However, since the Germans went on to an easy 4-1 victory, with England baffingly throwing everyone forward too early, it will likely be swept under the carpet again.
"It wouldn't have mattered anyway" Right?
England fan or not, decisions such as this have no business being allowed at the pinnacle of World football, especially when technology is there to stop it from happening.
FIFA really is a joke of an organization.

Sure is. I think there's 3 major issues that plague the soccer world right now and none have been taken seriously enough to prevent the deterioration of the sport.
-Video Replay
-Diving
-Salary control: Not really FIFA, but the gap between the top clubs and bottom clubs grows every year

Quite the day for the officiating.
Obvious goal not allowed in the 1st match, at a crucial time.
Obvious offside not called leading to the first crucial goal in the 2nd match.
Poor. Really poor.
