England gets DENIED the tie goal at the 38 minute mark...clearly in. I cant believe the sport at this level does not have any sort of video replay....

Some 1966 redemption?

FIFA really needs to get their head out of their ass and at least get instant replay for goals.

Hopefully England did not just find another way to "lose" the game, need to come out and attack Germany and keep the ball because they are not that strong in the back.

Yeah I figured but a bit of doubt crept in when they displayed the graphic.

Unlike Jim Joyce, I doubt this referee will admit to his non-call. This is why people hate soccer. Well, this and the diving.

just an absolute joke, can't even say any words

the linesman/ref should be replaced at half time and banned from football for the rest of their lives

that wasn't even close, it was 3 yards over

Amazing how NHL refs do a 1000x better job with a tiny puck over a goal line, but these blind ass refs cannot see a huge soccer ball a good 2 feet over the line. What a disgrace. I don't care for either team, but I hope this game is decided by at least 2 goals.

England robbed, but I think GER is on their way to 4 goals anyway. ENG very sloppy at the back.

FIFA is run by a bunch of ancient technophobes afraid of American interference in *their* game.

Just guessing

A goal judge, with some sort of signal light would be a good middle ground. The official likely can't see whether it was in or not from halfway down the pitch - but someone sitting 10 feet away could. Hockey has had a goal judge for decades...

well well..

Soccer is a 20th century sport, very backwards.

and people have been clamoring for replay on goals forever but there never has been an incident to warrant it (ie. a big team being screwed) so FIFA has never been pressured to put it in.

There's clearly an incident now.

Fine trout. However in football in particular a team plays completely differently when tied than trailing. It's pathetic beyond belief at this level.

It's so stupid too, as they don't even need any fancy technology. Just have an off-field official watching the video from the side angle and have him radio into the referee that a goal has been scored. On something like that, it can be done in real time. No need to stop the game for a video review.

I suspect that miss-call will lead to changes.

After the ref finds out about how terrible the call was at half time, England will earn a penalty in the 2nd half.

Great first half of footballl. FIFA should definitely implement video replay on goal line plays such as that.

Knowing that it's the English being screwed, FIFA might not care!

This is the biggest shame, that missed call just ruined what has probably been one of the best games of the tourney so far...Well if you like lots of goals and terrible defending, personally I would rather see 1-0 with 10 men behind the ball all game.
