Are the odds of winning the $1m prize(s) supposedly the same as the ~$50m? Yet most of the $1m were won and no one won the big prize? If so, then yes it sounds like a scam.

I'm not sure if the odds of winning any single $1mm prize are the same as winning the $50 MM, but if they are, and you're basing your "it's a scam" position on the fact that 66% of the $1MM were won, but the $50MM wasn't then you need to brush up on your probability homework.

They must be making big bucks by not increasing the main jackpot and only adding an extra $12 million max draws.

You also have to keep in mind that they paid about $30 million in MAXMILLIONS, and $2.45 million in 6 of 7+bonus draws (6 x $409,012.60), plus the rest.
I've worked it out that they've paid out a total of $49.3 million dollars in cash prizes in the last draw (from the publicly available data), and an addittional $18 million in Free Plays.
I don't know, don't think it's really that bad people.

I am basing the "scam" comment on how it hasnt been won in 3 weeks.
Also the odds of winning it are 3X worse than 649 and almost 10X worse than payday.

I don't think anyone has won the Lotto Max main prize since March 12, 2010: http://wclc.com/app/winning_numbers/...gameId=1182764
At that time, the jackpot was only 10,000,000.
What people fail to appreciate is the extremely long odds of winning the big prize. The game is set up to carry over on a regular basis. No one winning the big prize is probably more common than someone claiming it.
Those lottery games with better odds also carry smaller prizes. Payday only pays out $675,000 or $1,000 per week for life (but for $2 per play). I'm sure someone could crunch the numbers and figure out your best bang for the lottery buck bearing in mind no play is probably the best play.

So, how is that a scam? The odds are worse because you have to match more numbers, but the size of the pots get bigger, which is exactly what you'd expect.
I mean ever lottery in the world is a scam if you if you consider that they're designed to pay out less than they take in, but is lotto Max a scam just because it's won less often? Of course not.

I laugh at all you people claiming that Max Millions is a scam. It's a lottery, people aren't supposed to win it all the time.
I guess to many people playing the lifestyles home lottery and expecting the 1 in 10 odds or whatever they are.

You posted that in a thread which is devoted to a lottery. I'm not a rocket scientist, but I think MONEY might be in the way of opening up a business she wants.

LOL at scam. I love how this one is. There are so many winners per week. I don't even think about the big jackpot. I'd rather have a whole bunch of people winning 1 million dollars each than 1 person get a huge chunk.

You won't see the numbers until tomorrow. It was after 3AM before they released the numbers from last weeks draws.

The bigger the jackpots, the more tickets are bought, the longe rit takes to check & and the later they post the results. I wouldn't bother checking until tomorrow morning.
And the 55 maxmillions is a minimum. I won't be surprised if they draw 60-70 maxmillions instead (they max out at 75 apparently).
