Not looking good for the Raptors to retain CB4.
Miami has dealt Daequan Cook in a move to open up capspace. More significantly, Chicago has a pending trade with Washington that will see Heinrich sent to Washington for the 17th overall pick. That'll give the bulls enough space to offer up two max contracts.
With the big market appeal and young talent in Chicago... I just can't see how they don't fit perfectly with Lebron's requirements.

I don't think either of these moves really make a difference. The teams still can't offer Bosh as much as Toronto can, so they'll need to get it done through a sign-and-trade, which is the same as things were before. Both moves are more about filling out the roster after picking up Bosh, than about picking up Bosh directly. I didn't want Heinrich in Toronto, so I'm glad that the possibility of him being sent to Toronto in a sign-and-trade is gone.

Ed Davis drops to the Raps. Potentially awesome result for them. A long, lanky lefty powerforward. Sound familiar? Should be a great replacement for Bosh in a few years, with less of a mid-range shooting game and better rebounding and shot-blocking.

Honest question...who is the last Tarheel drafted that has made a big impact in the NBA?
I know that guys like Felton, McCants, May, and im sure a dozen others have been drafted in the last several years (williams era), but have any of them really panned out?
Actually...found a website with that info.
Rather...ahem...underwhelming list to be sure. Of course 4 of these guys were rookies thsi past year.

Watching this NBA draft (background noise as much as anything) and the guys just dropped a bomb of a story.
The Portland Trail Blazers informed their GM today that he was fired...but he had to conduct the draft first.
Anyone else find that completely and utterly bizarre????

Yeah, I was thinking that. I'm not sure why he was fired to begin with. I thought Pritchard did a great job in Portland. He took a joke of a team, the Jailblazers, and turned them into a legit team in the West. Yeah, they haven't won a playoff series, but considering where that team was just a few years ago, I think he has done a great job. Also, the team is still young and has a great future, so its not as if the window closed.
As for the whole draft situation, I couldn't imagine being put in that position. Thats really weird and has to be awkward for him. Kudos to him for being a professional and carrying out his duties as a GM, despite knowing he won't be there tomorrow.

That would be cool but I was just making fun of a thread in the FoI forum. My friend's facebook status mostly had to do with a party he went to the other night.

So...... my Nets should be big time players this year in the FA market.
Lebron has recently said people would come to Ohio to meet him, he won't travel to see them. Wade and Bosh will be wined and dined by prospective teams.
And Danny Ferry is the hot name for the Blazers job at the moment.

I agree they should be big time players. I see them as a dark horse for LBJ. Harris, Favours, Lopez are a solid group to build with. Plus the Jigga connection.
Good look with the DFerry call.
Tranny, they have not had a dynamic crop like AJ and Wince for a while but they produce pro draft picks, the worthy, Mj and Perkins merits withstanding. But poor mr. pritchard. How nobody seeming took advantage of him i'll never know.

LeBron James and Chris Bosh To Chicago A Done Deal?
Quote:
An NBA executive says the Chicago Bulls have emerged as a favorite in the free agency sweepstakes for LeBron James, along with Chris Bosh, The New York Times reported on Sunday.
The executive said he had gleaned from his discussions with other league executives that James is leaning toward joining the Bulls, along with Bosh, his teammate on the United States' gold medal-wining 2008 Olympic team. The Times reported the executive did not want to be named because he was discussing a player who was not yet a free agent.
"I think it's a done deal," the executive, said according to the report.

I heard a rumor that both Lebron and Bosh are going to Cleveland - it was also from an un named NBA executive - The Score reported it last night.

Onrait tweeted the same thing this morning, but with Chicago instead of Cleveland. He says an NBA exec even refered to it as a "done deal". As cool as I think it'd be to see the Bulls as a powerhouse again, I'd be disappointed to see this happen. Would crush all the inroads the Blackhawks just made in that town.
