The problem with Italy now is that they have such a defensive mentality, I almost can't even see them playing offensively and getting 2 goals (even if they can get the ball). Currently sitting last in the group with 45 minutes of group play to go.

Go England, can't wait too see Rooney put three past your joke of a team. Of all the teams, I hate Germany the most. You're always arrogant thinkng you're the best in the world, let's see how you face a world class side like England. LET'S GO ENGLAND!
We shoud have won yesterday, we were a better team, and had we had a better forward instead of the USELESS Zigic we might have gone through. Australia definately didn't deserve to win, but I'll praise their resaillance, they definately always give their best, even when they're down to 10 men. Too bad Ghana went to the next round, Serbia should have instead but Australia as well. But the referee was horrible! It was a clear penalty! So painfull....

Playing Zigic was a mistake, sometimes being big isnt good enough. The other thing is that Vidic just isnt that good. He was the goat on both goals.
I watched the replays, the offside calls, while tight, looked right, but then Krasic(?) beat the keeper and blasted into row Z, sidefoot into the net buddy, he had a great game, just little finish.
As for Serbia/Germany game. Klose wasn't 'tackling' from behind, he was behind a player and got carded for it, those were the two softest yellows I've ever seen in my life. Cheap shots? I didnt see anything egregious or out of the ordinary, but that was also a while ago and I've moved on. The Serbs went down a little easy? Absolutely, they wanted the foul to hold onto the ball, they were playing a little scared and needed the ball back on some occasions.
Look, I was pissed about that game, but its in the past now, and primarily I blame the referee. Had the ref that oversaw the Germany/Ghana game done the Germany/Serbia game it would have been a whole different story.
I was initially pissed at Serbia, but mostly just because Germany lost in a bad way, I think thats natural, especially as, even with 10 men Germany looked the better team but still lost, as a fan thats frustrating and who do you take it out on? The ref is some faceless nameless loser, I dont even remember his name, so naturally its the opposition.
Also, I got up at 5:30 to watch that and that was an ugly game. Ugh, that sucked.
Anyways, there you go. Thanks for the compliment at any rate, your a pretty good Serbian fellow even though you like the (despised) Nemanja Vidic.

There's alot of big pressure on the big countries. England and Germany survived it yesterday with tense 1-0 wins. Italy is failing.

And when they do get a break, they waste it.

FIFA when allocating world cup spots considers lots of things and confederation performance at the World Cup is one of them.

That would be total BS on FIFA's part. Who would you rather see in the World Cup - a team like Canada, El Salvador, Costa Rica or Trinidad and Tobago, or Chile, Uruguay or Paraguay? That's what I thought. Keep the extra spot in CONMEBOL, 4-5 South American teams belong in the show.

I'd rather they went with some of the secondary stats - which team had more shots on/at goal, for instance. At least then the team going through gets the spot on something related to their play.
