Yes, that must be the one. That sounds better than I remember.

Actually, they played really well against the Swiss too, just could score. Definately a fan of Spain, they're my favourites to go all the way, don't let the Swiss result fool you.

Well, they're playing in the only spot that Canada had a hope of taking, so, if Canada had turned down the suck marginally it could be them being made to look like amateurs against Spain.

Another great goal by Villa. He's quite the player too! Love watching the Spanish play. Great team.

So Spain needs to beat Chile to qualify and have a higher goal differential that the Swiss?

You never know! Canada can always surprise!
Canada should be as good as or better than the US.

Troutman talks about how nobody cared in 1986. Canada was MILES ahead of the US in 1986. US had no league, no structure, a disfuctional FA. Canada was qualifying for World Cups, had the CSL in the works long before the MLS. Remember the Calgary Strikers? I saw them a couple of times as a kid. Canada had players in Europe while the US couldn't even find outdoors players, they had to resort to indoor players!

Since then the US has qualified for every World Cup and Canada hasn't qualified for any. Very sad.

Bahahaha David Villa! Awful attempt in what has been a superb game by him. Maybe he will blame the ball?

Fergie, sign him up!

Spain has to be more than a little concerned on their inability to finish.

Given that goal difference comes into play, you're right about that. Fact is they should be 5 or 6 goals to the good.

Something like that. Say this ends at 2-0.
Both Spain and Swiss have 3 points but Spain is +1 and Swiss at 0

So if they both tie Spain advances.
If either they both win or both lose then you have to count goal difference.

Spain could use a few more right now.

Actually forget all that. If Spain beats Chile they will automatically advance.

Why do they advance? Switzerland could beat Honduras and be tied in points.

Everyone's got two games down - let the math and the clinching games begin!

They would have equal points as Chile and have a better goals for goals against as chile is +2 and Spain is +1 but if Spain beats Chile they will move up at least one and Chile will move down at least one.
Also I think Spain Chile will be the best game out of the group stage.
