Am I reading right that two of the deaths were in one of the adjacent houses, and two in the actual exploded house?

So if thats the case I feel badly for the people in the adjacent houses, those are the innocent victims.
If it was in fact a meth lab then I say that its kinda an irony that two people who are making what is a horrible and destructive drug were taking out of existance in the middle of their misery lab. I don't feel badly for those two at all.
I have stated in the past that I strongly dislike people that make money on the misery of others in the drug trade.

Thank god for freedom of speech, I'm getting sick of all the bleeding hearts on these forums when it comes to people making light of serious situations. Guess what some people deal with these situations differently, It doesn't mean they don't feel bad for the events that have happened

Freedom of speech or freedom to show no class and say whatever the hell you want, regardless of the feelings of others? Please...
Whatever. I've said my peace...but be my guest and wallow in bad taste.

Assuming automatically it was a drug lab may be a little premature:
The cause of the explosion is not known at this time, crews continue to investigate if propane or natural gas played a role. They say at this point there is no evidence to indicate a drug lab or an explosive device could be behind the blast.
"I'm told by investigators that there is no indication at this point that the blast was caused by an explosive device or a drug lab. However, the investigation remains active and on-going," explained da Costa.
It wasnt to long ago a training house blew apart near Wainright when volunteer firefighters were using. Seems more of natural gas realted but who knows. Have to wait and see what the investigation says. However it was interesting the DEcontamination truck was there, that is a tell tale sign of drug lab.
On an unrelated note it looks like a bad weekend got worse around Edmonton with a young RCMP officer dieing in car accident just west of the city. Sad considering she was looking for a drunk.:
ctvedmonton.ca
An RCMP officer was killed in a fiery crash on Highway 16 early Monday morning.
Police have identified Stony Plain RCMP officer Const. Chelsey Alice Robinson as the victim. She died after her police cruiser was involved in a collision with a semi-truck trailer.
Police say the officer was patrolling the area on a report of an impaired driver when her cruiser collided with the semi near the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 15, near Stony Plain around 12:45 a.m.
The semi eventually came to a stop near a grassy median where it became engulfed in flames. The driver managed to escape the blaze. Police say the driver of the semi suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say 25-year-old Robinson was taken to hospital where she later died. The young officer had only been on the job with the RCMP for seven months.
The RCMP continue to investigate.

I agree actually. Seems every news related thread recently has become a bad episode of Last Comic Standing.
I think there's a time and place for dealing with things in a humerous way, but most threads have pretty much been dominated by that. Its like 1 relevent post or opinion for every 10 jokes.

I'm all for light heartedness and one-liners, but as you said, it has become excessive on these forums. I wish people would show some class or sensibility before handing out the one-liners.

You never know though.
I don't remember another house explosion in Lethbridge since then. At least, I'm not sure. There was another house that burned down but I don't remember if it too was an explosion. That one would have been 4-5 years ago.
I remember a house in Marlborough, in Calgary blowing up, sometime around 83-85. Don't really remember the cause or anything, but I think it was rigged by a guy who was going through a divorce and didn't want his wife to get the house. At any rate I don't think it caused the same amount of destruction to surrounding houses that the house in Edmonton did.

I'm not great with Lethbridge geography. Must be that one - I thought it was 2004/5 though. And I was sure it was meth. Just going by when I was with my 2nd wife, I don't think it could have been 2003.

I don't know, would a natural gas explosion on its own be that massive?

The really annoying thing is that I don't imagine that many people come to these boards for amateur comedy hour. A lot of the so called "funny" posts are just a nuisance to scroll past.

Oh Lordy above.
Tell you what. I'll donate $100 to CP if all of the people that thanked post #27 also each donate $100 to the charity of their choice.
