Have always wondered about this one. As we all know the new (last season) home jersey's have the tie in the front. I have always wondered what everyone else thinks about it. Is there a Flames tie procedure I'm unaware of? Do you guys/gals keep it tied or undo it? The reason I'm asking was I ran into another person and he mentioned that I wasn't a priest and I should untie it. Oddly enough there are a lot of people out there that do untie the little knot which made me think twice about this.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, to tie or not to tie is purely personal preferences, what does it have to do with being a priest? I keep mine tied in a butterfly knot, and I take out the lace to wash the jersey and tie it back again if the team face elimination in the playoffs or goes into a 3 game losing streak in the season.

IMO, tie it or take it out. Hanging loose looks goofy.

And, don't ever tuck your jersey into your pants.

I leave mine hanging out.... er the laces on the jersey (better get that clarified before Fotze finds this thread! )

It should all come down to personal preference.

Exactly! It's a jersey NOT a shirt.

Unfortunately, yes. On any given game night you will see at least one Flames jersey tucked into a pair of Wranglers.

that's almost as cool as having your jeans tucked into your cowboy boots.

well its good to know I'm on the same page as most people. The priest comment was kind of out of the blue so I didn't take it seriously. I still have the original tie that was on the jersey when I got the Christmas before the run so needless to say I haven't touched it.

Mine comes down to my knees if i don't tuck it in, so I tuck one side into my belt a la Gretzky.

Probably looks pretty gay but I have to do it. I don't enjoy wearing dresses.

Yeah it looks better tucked in a bit than hanging down like a dress.

How is it that people are ending up with jerseys that hang down to their knees? Is no one trying them on before buying them?

I buy a lot of mine so that I can wear my full hockey equipment underneath. Not that it happens a lot, but when we play in the Saddledome, I like to wear a Flames jersey.

But at that point it only comes down to my hips without padding.

OK, I just had a crazy thought. A bunch of us should show up at the dome with our jerseys on ,and full equipment underneath. That would be crazy.

Oh, wait, hockey equipment smells. Never mind.

I ordered an authentic jersey with that season ticket holders discount before the 2003-2004 season, and I was filling out a form that had sizes (i think) 52, 54, & 56.
I had no idea what these sizes meant, so I picked 52 and when I got it, it was huge on me. I don't know whether authentic jerseys are bigger since they are what the pros actually wear, or if they made a mistake, but I didn't plan for it to be down to my knees.

52 is an XL on semi-pros, if it's hanging down your knees you're probably under 5'8?

I wear XXL, it's a bit big but when i'm playing outdoor in the winter I need that extra space for sweatshirts, scarfs ect. I recently got a Flames vintage and debated to get an XL but caved for XXL again.

p.s. untied on the home red.
