Trailer for Zelda:

Nice, kind of combines the look for Wind Waker (I love that one) and Twilight Princess.

Any first person shooter not made by Infinity Ward (Respawn now I suppose) can screw right off.

So not to hijack this thread.. but to save a new thread on the topic that might get 4 responses.. which RPG's have come out in the past 10 years that are "must plays"?
Since I started MMO's with UO in 97 my RPG and console game play in general has taken a nose dive. I've gotten consoles, but years later and palyed very few games. "Back in the day" there wouldn't be a RPG that got past my radar, from crappy ones like Mystic Quest to the best of the best (IMO) like FF: Tactics or Ogre Battle...
I think the last RPG I got into was Ogre Battle 64 and Tactics Ogre... FF3 was the last Final Fantasy I played as well.
Watching all this footage at E3 and for the first time since 97 not being interested in any single MMO out there, I think I need to get back into console gaming.
I was always a huge fan of Tactics type games (Shining Force, Fire Emblem, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre) Class systems and promotions have always got my attention. But I also played the live actions like Zelda and SOM, and the turn based randomized battle RPG's like Breath of Fire, FF1/2/3 and Chrono Trigger.
So which console/games would you recommend I pick up since the 2001ish era?

I'm just hoping they give an update on FFXIII Versus. Everything else I'm not really stoked about. But I do agree. The conference has been pretty bleh so far. If everything progresses as is, then Nintendo easily won this year's E3.

Hey man, you leave Mystic Quest alone. It may have had the simplicity of an inbred bumpkin baby, but damn was it a cute baby.

edit: MGS rising ... good to know it's not 360 exclusive (for me).

These game montage videos are getting annoying.
Particularly because they've showed live demos or trailers for half of these games.

Top Gear as in the same series that produced Top Gear 3000 for the SNES?

November 2, 2010 for GT5. This game has been in development forever. It finally gets a release date.

The gaming industry is hurting for the first time ever, it's only two options seem to be cutesy games, or keep re-hashing itself. It's strange to think that the current generation of consoles may be the end of the line for the console wars. There are no new consoles in development, which is really bizarre considering that the PS3 was in development pretty much as soon as the PS2 hit the stores.
|
Anyone know if this is legit? I have a hard time believing there is no development in place at MSFT and Sony for successors to the 360 and PS3 considering how old they are. The graphics are probably "good enough" which is one of the reasons why (and the vendors do not make money on the hardware for a long time). It just sucks because the ty console hardware drags down the progression of PC gaming as PC's are far far more powerful gaming systems other than in the year the console is released.
EA/DICE announcements around BF:BC2 are painful, it sucks paying for map packs but I am willing to do it (for high quality maps), yet it takes them half a year to produce any new content. Community mappers had custom TF2 maps out immediately once the SDK was released. And STILL no PC R8 patch.

No, but that would have been amazing to have that franchise renewed.
I meaned Top Gear as in the BBC television show as I saw the Stig and a track that looked like the Top Gear test track.
