Well that was an excellent moment to return from lunch. Come on Paraguay!

I agree it should have been Hart to start but Green will be the starter next game.

That isn't even supposed to be the Italian team in the parody. Just making fun of football in general. Why you've labelled it Italian is beyond me.

Last World Cup, Italy only allowed 2 goals in the whole tournament. One on Zidane's penalty kick, the other an own goal.

Yeah, me too. Like I've said though you can never count them out. Even if they lose this one they usually will find a way to get out of the group and be difficult to beat henceforth.

This Paraguayan team is very different to the one we saw in 2006.

First, huge props to CBC for the feed, the quality is excellent!

Italy, holy crap guys, enough with the diving, this weather is messing up their stylish coifs!

I do have a lot of respect for Cannavaro, he seems to be sticking in, but I've only really been watching on and off.

So you are cheering against Italy because you think they dive too much.... against a South American team not named Argentina

It's kind of like cheering for "the little guy" in a midget vs midget MMA fight (which I am a big proponent of - for the record)

Yeah you're right. One of the links originally had it as Italian. Whatever.

Italy is down at the half but honestly looked better then I thought they would have looked especially in the first 30.

Only real issue in the Italians play in the first half has been their shoddy marking on set pieces.

De Rossi should be ashamed of himself at the half, ridiculous dive on what would have been a good scoring chance had he stayed on his feet. Then add that to terrible marking on the Paraguay goal.

I guess you get used to it. Italy gets absolutely no respect, especially from casual observers that don't really know anything about the sport. At the end of the tournament, after England bow out in glorious disgrace as they always do, it isn't that bad.

Italy 1-6-1 in 8 matches at the World Cup previous to today in which trailing after the first half. The way the offense has looked so far, I'm predicting a seventh loss.

yeah that didn't make sense. Why would he dive if he running into the box for a good opportunity. This mexican ref is very lenient when it comes to fouls and won't get tricked into dives. He lets the play continue.

Overall I thought Italy played ok.. but Paraguay defense has been excellent.

I've never really been a fan of De Rossi and I've tried to like him. Pirlo can't come back soon enough.

Another victim of online world cup betting

I have been much smaller stakes but I lost a 10 on England Saturday (thanks Green!). Italy is 5-1 now if you want to double your pain...
