Now you're an FBI agent in the middle of suburbia taking photos and shooting buckshot at aliens. The only thing this game has in common with the actual xcom series is the title name...and apparently Elerium-115 as well.

Well said. Plus it would have been nice to get a modern X-COM game in the classic strategy style which is still unmatched after 20 years in how amazing the gameplay is.

All this for a rumored $189.99 stand-alone retail. I really hope that price isn't true because that's just ridiculous.

That price is true, and I am willing to bet not all the games I mentioned will be bundled with it.
It will be a catastrophic piece of crap.

Hopefully not. I don't trust Microsoft enough. I think the Xbox slim would be called the "slim fire". AKA it burning houses to the ground because of its poor design.

Sounds like the oilshow, do companies at E3 hire strippers to entertain clients there as well
I wish I would have gone before they made it exclusive. I guess there is always Comicon.

The name makes sense as they are likely to try to sell this as a social media device, maybe for once microsoft will cross promote/utilize other products like the Zune and their new phones.

So you'd rather them do nothing but continue to cater to the hardcore audience they've already developed?
Obviously the device isn't of much interest to hardcore gamers like you, but that's not who they're targeting. If the device does the Wii thing better than the Wii - then they've got something good on their hands. If not, then you'll be right, and they will indeed be "effing tools."

Yeah I would. I understand why there doing it, because they want to cater to the Wii audience. But I don't get why as the Wii is a piece of garbage (I have owned one since launch).
The Wii is ok, but only when you're with multiple people, and I can't have a party every day to play.
Gametrailers is working better than IGN for me at the moment for those who want to stream it.

If anyone is at home, SpikeTV has it on as well, supposedly commercial free. Watching it there now.

Watching it on the iPad. Well done gametrailers. I haven't seen one of these things every streamed in anything other than flash.
edit: helictopter scene in black ops looks sweeeeeet.
Don't forget: if you're not a great public speaker out the gate, talk with your hands. A lot.

70 million units sold world wide, versus 40 million for 360 and 36 million for PS3.
That might be one reason.. it isn't as popular in the US/NA as the other consoles, but the world wide figures do not lie.

It may just be a toned down gameplay but it looked rather outdated. And can TreyArch ever do anything original? Yes they had a helicopter battle but they had to steal the "gusher" screen from MW2 (the screen where you're about to die and it's red, looks like a gusher exploded on it).
All TreyArch ever does is steal IW ideas, never anything original.
Nice, now Hideo Kojima, finally I get to see MGS:Rising.
Edit: Ignore comment on graphics, all the gameplay videos looked 480i.
