Default E3 2010 - Release Your Inner Nerd

The biggest event in the gaming community is going on starting Monday June 14. Expect big announcements, unveilings and trailers galore.

The big three's press conferences go like this:

Microsoft - June 14 - 11:30 (MTN) I think?
Nintendo - June 15 - 10:30 (MTN)
Sony - June 15 - 12:30 (MTN)

Usually they are in the morning (I'll get specified dates later).

What is everyone looking forward to or hoping to have unveiled?

I am hoping for the announcment of something like the Eagle Eye or other equivalents so I can use a mouse and keyboard on a console instead of using a horrible controller.

Nintendo's presser is 9 AM on the 15th. I'm trying to get in (I'm going as media), but... nothing yet.

I can't wait to check out Metroid: Other M. I'd love a new Shin Megami Tensei game, but I'm not holding my breath for that to be at E3....

I updated with the times the press conferences will be held. As for watching them, you can check them out on IGN or Gamespot.

My tenth year of religiously following. Hopefully one of these years I'll be able to actually get to the show...

Sadly they stopped letting normal people enter. You need a pass (if you work in the industry). You can go but the tickets are like $400+ and I don't think it's worth it for that much money.

E3 should be interesting this year with the new hardware. Microsoft has Natal (or whatever it'll be called), Sony has Move, and Nintendo has the 3DS (i'm ignoring hte vitality sensor).

Semi related, Harmonix had a pre-E3 event unveiling Rock Band 3. Seems pretty interesting with a new Pro mode to teach how to play real instruments. The 2 Pro guitars seem nuts.

Almost assuredly will be debuted at Nintendo's presser.

The big question is when is the release date.

I wouldn't go for that much. Airfare and hotel are enough already. But it is fun to walk around, try all the demos and talk to the companies. Oh. and the swag can be neat.

I know industry and media guys who go every year and could get me a pass but I don't see why it would be worth it for me unless it was part of my job or if I actually lived in California.

Does anyone here read gaming websites and blogs? I've noticed these last few days have seen a ton of E3 trailers and videos even though the show hasn't started yet. It's like all the information is coming out before hand. Anyone else notice this?

And my only wish from this E3 is for Polyphony Digital to announce a release date for Gran Turismo 5 for North America. The wait has been long enough!

Why? The originals are still readily available.

I'm wondering if this year will have less shocking moments as so many trailers have come out. That being said I don't think the trailers were ever the big shocker moments.

At the moment no, but I assume they are waiting for E3. I fully expect a ton of info for Arkham 2, and my guess at a March 2011 release date.

I just think it's a complete abomination to the series considering that the first three games were turn-based where you controlled a platoon of soldiers that had a an average life-span of 3 missions. Even in x-com interceptor they still had a standard map where you built bases and did research when not in combat.

Now you're an FBI agent in the middle of suburbia taking photos and shooting buckshot at aliens. The only thing this game has in common with the actual xcom series is the title name...and apparently Elerium-115 as well.
