Ddefinitely, Look at the jays right now, they have about 10 players that can be starters, so perhaps they trade a couple of the lesser guys for prospects that slot into our weaker positions.

Pitching is also the most injury prone position in all of pro sports in my opinion. Overhand throwing is an unatural motion in which several things can go wrong. Look at how a guy like McGowan who had great stuff looks like his career may be done. Really two years ago, Marcum, McGowan, and Litsch were backing Halladay and Burnett in the rotation, last year all of them more or less miss the entire year due to injury and so far only Marcum has made it back to the majors.
So for every 3 pitchers you take you can likely expect at least one of them to have a shortened career due to injury. Hence why it isn't a bad move to really stock up on them.

Not to mention, it's never a bad thing to be pushing quality pitchers into the bullpen if it comes to that. And as we've seen with the Jays - particularly in the past week - you can't have enough strong arms in the bullpen.

Well, a lot of analysts say that the Jays made out really well the picks, and that they should be able to sign all 4 of them no problem.
Hopefully they continue to go for the best players available, regardless if they're position players or pitchers.

I really liked the strategy here. In McGuire they get a "sure thing" who should end up pitching in the majors and will the Jays some kind of production. By getting this pick out of the way, they set themselves up to take a guy like Noah Syndergaard who is extremely raw but could turn into a beast down the line. The bust factor is higher with a player like this but his potential is sky high.
Nice job so far by the team. I'm very interested to see how the mid rounds go for the Jays as this is where their massive scouting staff should be able to uncover the unheralded jewels of the draft.

I believe in the Jays.

Honestly, when the jays draft again at 61 I think they ought to grab another pitcher if Stetson Allie is still around. Hard to turn down a damn near 100mph fastball at #61 I imagine.

Not a bad stretch of games within the division for the Jays. 6-3 so far, 2-1 against the Yankees. If they can take 2/3 against the Rays and manage 8-4 in the 12 game in-division stretch, that'll be pretty impressive before they start two weeks of interleague play with tough series' against the Cardinals and Phillies.
I hope the Jays can get to about 45 wins by the end of June and stay in the hunt for the wildcard.
Edit: Woohoo 3,000 posts!

Malcolm we all know the jays can't win in Tampa. You had a good stretch and I appreciate you beating the yankees for us but a sweep is about to occur.

Nah, I doubt it.....
Today's game is a tough one for the Jays with Brian Tallet getting the start. I predict the Jays will lose. (8-2 is my guess)
However the Jays have Marcum starting in game 2, Marcum was outstanding last time he pitched against the Rays. I predict the Jays will win. This one will be a low scoring affair (3-2 or something like that)
In game 3, Jays have Brett Cecil starting. Cecil has been outstanding in his last 4 games. He has won all 4 of them including his last start against the Yanks allowing one run in 8 innings of work.
I predict the Jays will win this one 5-2....

Man Niemann v Tallet, gonna be a tough game to win tonight, can't see them taking it. If they could somehow pull this one out the series looks good matchup wise and the Rays are sucking bad lately. Lost 8 out of 13 and they need this series bad.

Speculation is Litsch will get the next start, Tallet will go to the pen.
I would guess Purcey would be sent down.
