He had actual inside info?
I had the understanding his inside info came from him sitting in the stands watching practices and him making conclusions from his observations?

I really think that there should be an archive of "famous last posts" on CP but most of the last posts of banned users have been deleted unfortunately. All we have are our memories.

Yeah this is a shame. Because of all the grammar nazis and holier than thous trolling we lost a pretty decent poster. Yes, some of his threads were hard to read, or unwarranted (I'm guilty of this as much as anyone), and ya much of his "inside" information turned out to be untrue, but at least he gave us something to talk about once in a while.
CP can be tough to share any information with. Even when you say RUMOUR and tell where you heard it etc people still argue and attack the original poster for it.
Maybe he'll show up again with another handle some time.

Count me as one who thinks that unwarranted, hard to read threads about purportedly inside info that turns out to be untrue should be kept to a minimum. Threads like that which just "give us something to talk about" rarely generate much quality discussion and too often devolve into bickering about whether the thread should be open and whether the info is BS.

I didn't mean to say they were all like that... I think he often posted from his blackberry so I forgive the poorly written part.
Personally I like hearing rumours and discussing- as long as their at least reasonable. I think the bickering part is the part that needs to stop. Just me though!

Thing is, he's not an average poster. The guy bills himself as a big shot blogger (boasting of multiple sites) with "insider" status and got all butthurt when nobody could decipher his garbled prose.
If he wants to run with the big dogs, he's going to face the same scrutiny. Unfortunately, being functionally illiterate is not a very good selling point.

Speaking of which, pot meet kettle.
As we discussed in the moderation thread in the "Help" section, people seem to think they know why a user was banned. It generates an unwarranted "holier than thou" attitude; which is why Photon went to great lengths to bring all that to a discussion.
You are right; this user did not do anything ban worthy on the day we suspended his account. However he did PM and ask that we suspend his account; so we granted his request.

Which in and of itself is just completely odd.
I mean really...if he doesnt want to use the site any longer...just quit coming to it. Asking for your account to be deleted smacks of a "dare" to the people who run things.
I dont miss his stuff one bit myself.

I think too that some of the moderators were less than enamored with the guy's persistent linking to his various blogs (which is basically spamming). His "reports" were often simply copy and pastes of his blog content.
He's a wanna-be Eklund. Which is kinda funny in itself.

Don't miss him. Except for being unintentionally funny, his "inside info" was garbage.
