Not me, I have not owned a Microsoft product in 5 years. I had enough with their faulty programs and especially their crappy Windows products. Once I went Apple I never looked back and happy I did.

I boycotted Burger King for a while when they had those stupid heavy metal chicken ads.

Now I don't eat alot of fast food anyway so it's irrelevant.

Shell Gas stations, Petro Canada, ..... Canadian Tire is rapidly approaching boycott status with me too.

Petro Canada: Because it's incredibly "Peeving" that they advertise 3.5 cents a litre off regular prices (with a petro-points card) that only ultimately puts them on Par with all other gas stations.

Canadian Tire: Sold my Wife (who was driving across the Country with my 2 young daughters) 2 "Brand new tires", which were later proven to be used and one even had a rubber plug in it and subsequently "burst" while my Wife was driving 100 KMH on the Deerfoot.

Mcdonalds - crappy product and service one day put me over the edge. They were never a good company to support to begin with. Funny thing is I volunteer for Ronald Mcdonald charities though

Burger King - same as above, too many burgers that were nothing like the photo, nothing.

Telus - I could almost get over the horrible commercials. But I had internet with them for 3 months and it was the worst possible internet service I ever purchased.

Apple - for reasons previously mentioned in the thread.

TV/Movies with scientologists as the leads (including Simpsons, Will Smith movies) Or other actors I don't want to support like Charlie Sheen. NBC might be soon.

Live pet stores as previously mentioned. Though right now I don't have a pet, when I do get a dog it will be from a real breeder (or shelter) and no live pet stores for supplies.

Not that this will prompt you to end your boycott, but they don't do the 3.5 cents savings anymore. All you get now is a Petro Point or two that you can accumulate and in 5 years you can redeem them for an air freshener.

Every station in the city did that for a long time in reaction to Safeway introducing the idea of "3.5 cents off". They finally stopped last year.

Actually, for a long time, the Petro-Canada in Monterey Park was the only one I knew of that actually posted their price to match everyone else's pump price, and still gave the 3.5 cents on top of that with your Petro-Points card.




Telus and the Esso station on Macleod Trail south of Glenmore are my only active boycotts.

If you attempt to steal money from me and/or don't provide the services I paid for, you won't ever get my business again. With the new Co-Op gas station opening where the Future Shop used to be, I hope that Esso goes bankrupt and all of their crappy, lazy, unhelpful employees lose their jobs and are unable to ever get a job anywhere else, ever.

Same here... for the most part. But I..unfortunately..LOVE Excel. And I get lots of use out of Word and Powerpoint, the iWorks stuff just isn't the same. I know there's Open Office, but it doesn't run on my Mac.

British Airways and British Telecom (BT) are the two big ones for me. Outside of Telus, I don't think I've dealt with a worse service provider than BT. Switched to SKY a few years ago and now we field at least one phone call per month from BT asking if we would come back to them. Even had one person get angry with me over the reasons why we left.

BA is a joke of a company these days. High ticket prices, poor service, the monopoly of new terminals at LHR and the union problems makes me cringe at the thought of flying BA. Plus, over the past 5 years, an average of 1 in 4 people had luggage problems with BA. Nice record.

In Canada it was Telus (obvious reasons), Safeway (joke of a company, poor business plan and miserable service), and Rexall (YUK!).

Oh yes, Air Canada. Years and years of awful service. I was way too happy when you could use your air miles for Westjet flights.

I boycott the downloading of music illegally. I like to support artists by buying the CDs. I also find liner art really interesting and I like having piles and piles of CDs.

Try to avoid Chinese made products, Wal Mart (for sure), giant chain stores and franchises. I try to vote with my dollars.

It is not easy and can't always be avoided but they are never my first option.

I got my dog from Petland. She was a dog that was rescued from one of the reserves. I don't know if they do it anymore but they worked with an organization to rehabilitate these animals and then Petland sell them for the cost of getting them spayed/neutered.
