Lazy punkass kids too selfish to "inconvenience" themselves by driving an extra few minutes to do it legally. They would much rather inconvenience others and create a hazardous situation.

Whenever someone does something that upsets me when driving, l now give them the 'westside' gang symbol. It works wonders. They look scared like l'm gonna put a cap in their ass.

Agreed, that's the problem. So everyone assumes the worst and thinks it is a honk out of anger or aggression....

So what? People (especially teenagers) can be selfish and lazy, you haven't figured this out yet?

It certainly does not justify some old arsehole ramming their vehicle and then attempting a armed assault with a bloody hammer. What's next, kids that forget to hold the door open at the mall get their legs kicked out?

The old bugger is lucky, that is for sure. Kids should have taken the hammer from him and stuck it straight up his arse, clearly that is where the old guys head is at.

I'm turning left off of Elbow onto Glenmore. As I go to turn some lady is blocking the road. I'm already in a bad mood I hate rush hour traffic. I am pissed off and she see's this, waves at me to acknowledge her mistake I nod back to accept her acknowledgement and I wait 3 min for the next light.

Its funny how just accepting that what you did was wrong can fix the problem.

Yup. Nothing like a palms-up cringe from the guy that screwed up to diffuse my rage.

Never said this was a new revelation. Next point.

Never said the reaction was justified. Ramming? Please....

Not holding the door open is not illegal as far as I know. Very weak effort here...

Literally kicking the crap out of him and leaving him a bloody mess was not enough for you? By stating that he is lucky are you implying that their excessively violent reaction was justified?

Yesterday morning on Deerfoot some dumb lady starts changing lanes into my lane without even looking. So I give her some warning honks and slow down so she doesn't collide with me. What does she do? Fingers me though her back window and speeds off. Right.

I will give the polite tap tap on the horn when imbeciles in front of me are sitting at a green light texting/fapping/whatever, not moving. I would say 2 out of 3 times the person will give a wave and move on.

I will lay on the horn when someone does something dangerous like veering into my lane or whatever. They usually don't wave with all their fingers.

I also wave and/or blow kisses to the pieces of shinguard that I let in front of me who don't wave. What's with not giving the courtesy wave?

When I lived in Calgary I would courtesy wave while they were still deciding weather or not to let me in.

I only honk if someone is going to back into me.

In a free carry state, people don't honk much. HAHA.

Ha. This has happened to me a few times too. Someone does something REALLY stupid like cut me up and then shouts at ME. I think it's because they feel emabarassed about what they did and then get all mad. I can only shake my head and laugh at those ones.

Pulling out of my drive onto the street one day in my quiet neighbourhood a car just appeared from nowhere and blazed down the side of me and down the street before I had time to pull away. That was just ignorant and the day I see that car/guy again....

I agree to a point. The idiot with the hammer is just that, and the kids are indeed selfish and lazy. I just resent the ageist tone of your post, typical of many condescending and patronizing and dismissive attitudes displayed towards older people by many posters. People don't become arseholes because of age. They are arseholes to begin with and develop it further over the years. "Old people" might be past their physical prime, but they can be evil, kind, creative, generous, productive, and vital. Speaking as a person past 50, I don't consider myself old, and there are many older than myself that feel the same way. I resent needless marginilization of my older brethren. Rant off.

I hate when people do Uturns in traffic. It's been said numerous times and by Fotze I think. Holy crap it pisses me off. Sure, do a U turn at an intersection, stop sign, whatever, I do them do, but not randomly in traffic because you've missed your turn. People occasionally do them on Memorial drive heading west by the CBC and soccer fields, completely buggering up traffic. Makes me angry.

Also - and I think Fotze mentioned his mom doing it. (hehehe).

People who cause problems trying to get into a lane 15 km's before they actually need ot be in that lane. "I'm going to go really slow, block traffic behind me, almost cause an accident, put on my signal light and try to block someone going 80 when I'm going 50 so that I can get into the middle lane on crowchild because I have to turn in 10 km's onto Stoney Trail. "

Ah, the good ol' "sorry, I screwed up" wave, the ultimate anger dissipator. That works on me every time. Someone can screw up badly and I'd be all pissed, but once they give me the wave, any anger I had just disappears. I think it's the fact that they knew they screwed up. I mean, mistakes happen, we're all human.

What's also annoying is when someone cuts you off and then gives you the courtesy wave as if you actually let them in. I rarely get road rage anymore though as I just take my time and get to where I'm going eventually.
But good on the old guy for standing up to those punks who think they can do whatever they want.

hehe, driving into my quiet little neighbourhood in okotoks two nights ago...

car in front of me starts pulling a u-turn, no signals or anything, without checking to see that i'm RIGHT BEHIND him. just assumes because he's on a quiet road that the coast will be clear.

i think what stopped him was hearing the squeal of my breaks...i would have slammed right into the drivers side door if he kept going.
