For actresses playing the elderly on an 80s sitcom, I'm surprised it has taken so long. I always thought that the finale should have featured a death and the mourning process as part of the whole concept of a show around aging gracefully with life.

Amazing... 88 years old and wants to be a regular cast member in a sitcom, "Hot in Cleveland". Looking at her IMDB and it seems she is doing MORE shows as she ages rather than slowing down.
