It's the iPhone screen that has the coating, the iPad screens don't have the same coating.

Well, some things just don't FEEL right doing... and drawing diagrams with my finger works just fine, but it FEELS wrong...
So what I'm saying is that it's not the iPad that is wrong, it's me that's wrong. Maybe if I did more fingerpainting as a kid, I wouldn't feel silly drawing with my finger.

Pogo Sketch is great- Apple Store in Canada didn't seem to have it but found it online for 15$ shipped- which is retail price.

This would be cool to charge the devices with. Wish they had a non-laptop version for cheaper.

So this isn’t a bragging or snooty kind of question, but I’m just curious - in people’s travels with their iPads, have you run across anyone else with one? So far mine is the only one I’ve seen in the wild.
I wonder how many iPads are floating around Calgary right now. I also wonder if they will hit that weird critical mass that happened with the iPod - at first, nobody had one, then, it seemed like overnight there were white earbuds everywhere you looked.

The guys at the NE Best Buy said they sold all 45 units in about 4 hours on Friday. The first model to sell out was the 64GB 3G (most expensive).
I think lots of people want one, but it's going to take a month or two to get things covered. Between low supplies for the people who are eager to get one, and the "cool" people who don't want to be the among the first to get one...
Six months from now, they will be everywhere. Especially if we're talking about selling 1 million units per month.

yup, you bet. it even happened with one of my dream cars, the infiniti g35/g37, everybody in this city has one now.
I would link the image of the tech life cycle, but I've kinda done it before and maybe even in this thread (like, when iPad was announced).
its even happened/happening with the iPhone. everybody I know plans on getting a iPhone 4 when it comes out (including me)

Haven't seen another one yet. But both today and yesterday the person sitting beside me on the train ride home asked if it was an iPad I was holding.

Awesome!
Also, I like the reason it's free today... In fact there may even be a thread on this board about that very reason...
Edit: Doh. Just realized it's iPad only. I wonder if there's an iPhone equivalent...

Get an iPad and you won't have to look for an equivalent. =)

This would be nice to see on a Air Canada or Westjet flight:
Quote:
TRAVELLERS wanting to experience Australia's hottest new hi-tech gadget will be able to rent one on some Jetstar flights later this month. The low-cost Qantas offshoot has signed a deal with Apple to become one of the first airlines in the world to trial iPads for its in-flight entertainment.
Passengers will be able to rent the mobile devices on selected longer flights to watch new release movies, browse television programs, read an e-book, listen to music or play games. The airline is also looking at adding its in-flight magazine to the tablets.

Air Canada already spent a few million outfitting their planes with touchscreen LCDs built into the seats, there's no point in offering iPads which will probably get damaged by passengers anyway.
