So I read a little more about this, and found that they had another huge hole open up in 2007, I'd hazard to say people living in this city should probably not live there any longer.

Quote:
In February 2007 a giant sinkhole opened up in a poor district of Guatemala City, sucking in 10 houses and killing 2 people. According to Guatemala City officials the hole was caused by leaking sewer pipes, which eroded the earth.Residents said a terrible stench exuded from the hole, along with bizarre churning sounds and a foul vapor.

BTW they said it was more than 100 meters deep!

Bizarre churning sounds?

Holy crap. Remind me to never visit Guatemala. Ever.

It's crazy how circular these are. I've seen sink holes in Florida but nothing like these.

The best comment from the article, "That picture reminds me of my ex-wife for some reason".

It appears Edmonton has new competition for being the biggest hole.

It goes directly into the giant hole along with the rest of your house.

How dare you. This is a real tragedy, where people were hurt and possibly died, not to mention the loss of property and finances. You go ahead and make your jokes. How about we all make fun of you when something terrible happens to you and/or your family.

Good lord, it's insensitive posters like you that really drag this board down.

Exactly, it's so disrespectful. In fact I've put in a request to the mods for both you and I to be given voluntary "lifetime suspensions", so that we don't have to be subjected to this crap.
