Star Trek 09 did decent. The previous few, not so much.

I think the only way that a Mass Effect movie is successful is if it's a Prequel to the game. The flexibility of the game to play as whoever you want, however you want, would be squashed if they introduced "Shepard". Whereas it'd be cool to see a story that takes place before the game's storylines.

it's apples and oranges. Star Trek has a HUGE following worldwide, Mass Effect can't even compare. and do you honestly believe that ME will get the same kind of budget that Star Trek got?

Mass Effect would need a bigger budget than Star Trek imo, everything would have to be CGI.

I'd love for studios to look at these things in terms of story, rather than potential market. If there's a good story to tell that they think people will be entertained by, then spend the money to do it right.

Otherwise, they're just trying to capitalize on a quick buck. At the end of the day, nobody wins from that. The quick buck just isn't there.

The Warcraft thing is a good example. It's such a huge world with tons and tons of fleshed out stories and history that they could probably make three movies out of it. I'd almost say that Azeroth is as "real" as Middle Earth is.

If Yvonne Strahovski will reprise her role from ME2, I'm not gonna complain.

Didn't pacman get pickup up for a movie recently?

Is it directed by Uwe Boll? If so, I predict a trainwreck of a movie.

She is a must. Just put her, and CGI like 10 more of her. Then have them all make out.

Wait a minute...that isn't Sci-fi. Is there a genre called "awesome"?

Not too optimistic, coincidentally Rotten Tomatoes just did a list of the best video game adaptations.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides...e_adaptations/

Hollywood has failed miserably. Tron looks awesome though.

I thought Hitman was good.

And they're making a second one! Olyphant might not reprise Agent 47 though.
