I can verify the fact that he did book those edgemont fields and he is terrible for bringing permits. We have been punted from a few fields that I have later seen his permit for. Sorry for whatever bags tried to intimidate you, I can assure you that he wasn't the one sending them over. We have the most ridiculous turnover on our team and have had our fair share of bags.

Thats what I am trying to get at, I am sure some of your are good people such as yourself, but the amount of jerks that end up playing on that team are ridiculous, it seems like half of them are spoiled kids who think they deserve the world, when they haven't earned nothing yet and respect is earned, thats why I had no problem slide tackling late into some of your players in the past.
I've actually been asked to tryout by your coach, guess he liked my intensity. Too bad, I told him the only way I will play for him is if he removes the grease from his head, he then called me an "idiot". This was back when you had the alumni team, I don't have the dedication or talent anymore to play at the top. Plus I would rather pay my own way and play for a coach I enjoy playing for.
I believe Pars and Callies are the most hated organizations by there peers.

Best part about that last statement is that I bet that no one in the league hates each team more than the other. It has been going on for a long time between us and Callies. I totally agree with the fact that a lot of our players come off as cocky punks. A lot of that has been due to age/maturity. Also if you have only played our Alumni team then a lot of it would probably have come from the fact that a few of the guys would have most likely bee call downs from our major/prem teams. We definitely have a chip on our shoulders, albeit wrongfully so, when playing down a few divisions.
It seems like there would be enough soccer players on here to organize some sort of CP meet-up to play some pick up... Any interest? I promise to leave my cocky Pars bull at home haha.

I have to agree on this one. I used to play for the Pars several years ago, and ended up parting ways. The team was a lot of fun to play for, skill level was excellent and the guys on the team were awesome, and who is going to complain about having free swag and everything paid for.
The biggest reason (other than injuries) that I parted ways with the Pars was the coaching. Felt great to beat them the next outdoor season too! Remember the PK snipe to the top shelf Anyonebutedmonton?
Anyways, the Pars have been a very successful club over the last several years, and credit to them. And anyone who knows anything about soccer in Calgary knows that the best tournament of the year takes place the second weekend of September in Montana.

Boy, lots of Pars connections on here.
Anyonebutedmonton, you wouldn't happen to be able to PM a brother the coach's (KK's) email address would you?

I'm really surprised there's so much Pars hate on here. The coach of Pars is one of the nicest guys I've ever played for.

I probably shouldn't show as much dislike as I do, he probably is a decent person. Its probably the swagger and the way he carries himself during the game that gives that impression to everyone else.

Fair enough. I've never really considered how he would look from other teams' perspectives before. I just know the kindness and the generosity he's shown to so many people who have been around him. I don't just mean sponsoring teams either. I mean him going out of his way to help and support people on his teams in lots of different ways.
I've always felt he's a really great guy. If I was back in Canada I'd be happy to play with his team at any level.

I'm hesitant to send a personal email, but if you look around on CUSA you should be able to find his contact info.

I totally agree. The guy is outright selfless when it comes to his players. He may b*tch and yell his face at you, but he would be the first guy to drive half way across the city to come and pick up a player for practice who couldn't afford a car. He puts in countless hours of his time and tens of thousands of dollars into the team, so it's pretty easy to let the griping slide. I guess thats why it might come off a rude to other teams, cause they don't see the work he puts in.
PS Sorry for somehow turning this CUSA thread into a Pars discussion. Its so like a Pars player to think that he is the only thing that matters haha.

I'm bumping a year-old thread for purely selfish reasons: My Div 3B team is looking for players. Anyone who can play at that level (or higher!) want to come out for this season? Of course, if you're not already attached to a team this year.
We're Eagles 2, currently witting at .500 with a win, a loss, and two draws.
Let me know if you're interested (or if someone you know might be) and I can let you know about the next practices so you can come out and kick the ball around. It's a pretty fun group of guys, and although we have quite a few Chileans, we're not an ethnic team per se. I'm a pasty white Anglo Saxon, for example.

Yep, proper outdoor eleven-a-side. We usually practice one or twice a week (usually somewhere near Bottomlands), and our games vary - we have a few weekend afternoons, but most are weekday evenings. Locations for games are literally all around the city.
If you want, send me a PM with your email address and I can fill you in on the details for practices.

Bumping this thread because i need a few players for our div 5 team, playing 6:30pm on saturday at SAIT.
We have room to sign a few more people, or call up a couple over 35 league players. Pm me if you can
If you are signing, you would need to be able to get a players card made at cusa head office by glenmore inn friday

What club are you Tiger and who are you playing? Which subdivision in 5? I might be able to help you out if there aren't any club conflicts.

Never noticed this thread originally, but as a former Pars player, I find it quite hilarious!
