London Drugs has been a bit of a hidden gem for a while now. Not only for their selection of Apple products, but also for their selection of niche-level accessories and the speed in which they latch on to new stuff.

For the longest time, they were the only place in town to get Zagg protectors. Also, I remember looking for a decent MacBook stand and finding a really nice one online. I phoned everywhere I could think of to see if they had one I could look at in person, but no one even knew what I was talking about. One day, I'm in London Drugs and there it is sitting on their shelf under the MacBook displays. I couldn't believe it.

London drugs website already has a bunch of iPad accessories and they even have an iPad section. Although there is none there it just says "We're currently adding products to this category."

It also looks like Future Shop and Best Buy will be selling iPads as well. I bet non-Apple stores will be getting a very scant number of iPads.

Yeah, Best Buy and FS have already been confirmed. They will only have 5-10 of each model though, so lineup early and all that.

I really don't understand the need to line up for this. I have other things to spend my money on right now.

I won't be lining up. I don't think I'll even buy one at all.

(I have to say "probably" so that, if I buy one 4 years from now, someone won't link back to this post and call me a liar.)

Edit: I really don't see a need for it in my current lifestyle. I won't be able to do my homework on it, so I'll have to still bring my laptop to school, and I can't use it at work. The only place I'll ever use it is when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV... but I already have a $2000 Dell Studio 17" laptop on my coffee table, so am I really going to use an iPad there?

In our defense, I've never seen anybody more enthusiastic and interested in everything to do with a corporation in which they had no vested interest. Your relationship with Apple is unusual. After starting this thread and dozens of other Apple threads - and talking about the iPad for months - I was really surprised to see you say you don't plan on buying one.

I'm with Fanin80 here... I love Apple, but I likely won't get one either. They look fun and all, and I know people who absolutely love their iPads, but I just have no use for one of my own right now. Maybe further down the road, but I think I'll stick with a traditional laptop that I already have for now.

Now, if I won the Lotto MAX jackpot tomorrow, then hell yeah I'd go get one. And all kinds of other gadgets. =P

Holy moley. I know very few people (okay, only one) with that many Apple products. That's a fanboy.

I've said right from the start that I'm just someone who loves talking about really cool and interesting things. If you look at the tech world over the last few years... the "cool and interesting" has pretty much been dominated by one company.

My big fault is that I'm provoked too easily. I'm trying to learn when to step away and just let ######ed comments roll by. I'm sure that if I was someone who didn't bite at every stupid comment along the way, I doubt very much that I'd have this "fanboy" rep I have now.

This is why that fanboy crap pisses me off so much. I'm not a fanboy, I'm just a guy who can't shut up (sometimes).

Look at how I went off on the whole Bertuzzi thing a while back. You think I really care that much about whether or not Bertuzzi's a bad guy? No, of course not. I just saw a point of view that made absolutely no sense to me, and before you know it I'm defending Bertuzzi against 6 other people. It baffles me that there are people here who can quote each of Bertuzzi's stats from any season on a whim, while I can't even tell you which team he plays for now... yet I'm the Bertuzzi fanboy because I once argued with 6 people about something that just simply made no sense to me.

On the Apple side of things, there's obviously a bit more history... but it's the same thing. Admittedly, I get clouded sometimes because they do so many cool things that I have to have the negative side of something pointed out to me before I see it, but whatever.

I mean, seriously though. What else would we talk about? A new HP printer that just came out? How interesting would the tech world really be without Apple in it? I know some people out there who could talk about silicon and circuits all day long and never get bored, but I'm not that much of a geek.

That is your opinion only, based on your own interests and your own tastes.

If the "cool and interesting" department were solely the domain of Apple and Apple only, then why does Apple only make one fraction of the items posted on tech blogs like Engadget and Gizmodo? Obviously people find those things cool and interesting as well.

Just because you are only turned on by Apple products does not mean that the rest of the forum shares your tastes. I am a fanboy of a lot of things but I don't frequently post about all of them with daily updates on those things. That's what personal blogs and twitter are for. That's why you are becoming a CP meme unto yourself.

I would rather talk about silicon(e)...both wafers and implants.

I don't really create that many threads guys. Most of the threads people are bitching about on the front page right now, were created months and even years ago.

If people didn't want to talk about that stuff, then why would threads from two years (or even six months) ago still be on the front page?

I've created 3 threads in the last week. Shoot me.

I also thought you were getting an iPad just by virtue of you talking about it a lot. I just assumed you were.

It's interesting hearing the guys on TWIT who have replaced a lot of their laptop usage with the iPad. They all seemed quite surprised by how much they used it. Not that I am trying to sell you an iPad, just saying. My girlfriend has a laptop in the living room as well. But I have feeling if the iPad is sitting on the coffee table she'll be picking that up instead of the laptop on our side table, watching that she doesn't hit the cord with anything, open it up, wait for it to wake up and then start browsing.

See I don't think it's the amount of products that pushes that person into fanboy territory. It's the fact that this person positioned all their products together, some of which are still in a box for some reason, and took a dramatic low light picture and posted it on the internet.

Yeah that's a bit much. Unless they're being sarcastic of course (and I doubt they are).

I've decided I need one of these. I can't go to any of the stores in the morning, so I suspect I'm S.O.L. until mid June.

I hope it has a very robust pdf reading app, and if it does, bye-bye Kindle 2. I tried to put large pdf's on the Kindle and it just doesn't have quick enough searching or proper scaling for pdfs (though I love it for Kindle formatted books).
