I'd forgotten what a monster Kobe is out there. The guy is still insanely good at almost every single facet of the game. I'm still pretty scared of the Lakers I saw in games 1 and 2, but I feel a lot better about the team-effect that the Suns bring to the table.
It reminded me a lot about the strategy they talked about D'antoni preaching during those Suns/lakers series, in the book 15 seconds or less. So far the Lakers supporting cast has been extremely weak. I just hope Amare realizes that Gasol is soft enough that he can have his way with him as long as he's aggressive.

AMAZING!

However, I will say that Perkin's T's will most likely be rescinded. They were really weak calls.

I do have a question about Howard's elbows though. I mean, you're taught to grab the rebound with both hands and then look for the outlet. However, at Howard's height and strength, it seems like he catches a lot of people with the elbows. Is this actually a foul or just inadvertent contact?

How about the elbow on Davis today? He was coming down from his shot and caught him in the face. While I cheer for Howard, I'm wondering whether he is considered a dirty player by doing illegal things, or just because of his size and strength, it happens much more often (much like Shaq used to injure people back in the day).

Sometimes he reminds me of Bruce Bowen, the master of the "incidental" contact.

Not that I expect it to happen (only because there is so much character in that Boston Room)... but could you imagine if the Magic came all the way back on the Celtics?

Poor Boston fans would be jumping after seeing that happen to the Bruins too!

As for the West, Great game for the Suns yesterday. That zone somehow has managed to confuse the Lakers (plus they couldn't make shots other than Kobe last night). Hopefully the Suns can find a way to steal a game at Staples..

They wont get that classic corrupt reffing in Boston. No chance this goes to a game 7.

I would be surprised if Perkins second T got rescinded, sports leagues dont usually like to discipline their officials in public.

I dont like how NBA are trying to mimic the fat blowhards in MLB with the incesent chest thumping.

Speaking of Steve Nash's nose, there's an amusing video on TSN's NBA section. A number of hockey players, including Ian Laperriere, Brian Campbell, Adam Burish and Duncan Keith remark about Nash's characteristic toughness.

Video is called 'Canadian Roots.'

Corrupt reffing? Please. If you take out the Hack-a-howard FT's, the Celtics shot more. Lewis played 23 minutes because of foul trouble.

The bottom line is if the refs call the game tightly, advantage Orlando. If they let things go, advantage Boston. If you watch Perkins in the post, he pushes Howard every time the ball gets thrown to him, which forces Howard a step further from his favorite spot. This is a foul, but NEVER gets called, and Perkins is lauded for his defensive play. When a game like yesterday comes along and everything does get called, he becomes incredulous and whiney.

The thing with the refs yesterday, was that they were completely consistent with calling touch fouls on both ends. Lewis and Gortat both got 3 fouls just for trying to fight for position, similar to Davis/Wallace/Perkins fighting with Howard. Howard never fights for position because he doesn't guard Perkins and doesn't respect Davis/Garnett that much and because of that he doesn't get called.

Surprise! It's been rescinded.

http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/2010/...7511274982531/

The whole point of this mechanism is to quietly allow the officials to make bad calls but the league can still get it right in the end and avoid larger controversies.

Suns making a last few minutes comeback. They looked like geniuses playing their bench in the 4th quarter last game, but they should've pulled Dragic and crew earlier in favor of Nash and crew this game.

Tie game... big 3.5 seconds defensively for the Suns. I am expecting to be heartbroken very soon.

I don't mind Artest from the days of the Indiana beatdown, but how weren't all hands on deck playing defence for the Suns? Damn.
