Soccer always looks so great in highlight packages, and I always get so excited to watch the World Cup, but then after the 4th game where 70 minutes of it are boring, I lose faith.

Hopefully this year will be different.
It's a game of patience certainly. Can be very frustrating if you're used to mindless action-packed sports.
But anything can happen at anytime! A goal matters whether it's in the 1st minute or the 90th.

I personally don't know, and nor am I interested, but if I had to guess, it's probably the same as your boyfriends. So you would have more of an answer than me.
FORCA PORTUGAL!

BTW Grosso just got sent home, won't make the final 23.
Yeah saw that the other day. A bit surprising due to his role in 2006 but not at all surprising considering his form since 2006.
Still though he was one of those guys who seemed to be a different player when he put on the National term jersey, and personally I would have rather had him there then Zambrotta.
Italy will need a lot of luck and to grow together as a team, much like 2006, in order to win again this year.
Currently watching Portugal play a tune up against Cape Verde. It's scoreless at half and Portugal look very weak right now. They have plenty of ball possesion, they have plenty of attacks into their final third, but they really haven't challenged their keeper. Like maybe 1 half chance. It's so far been the same old story going back to their qualifying campaign. Plenty of ball possesion, ZERO finish.
This could be a very short World Cup for Portugal. I'm not trying to be uber negative or anything like that. I'm trying to be realistic. They're just not very good. I still cheer my nuts off in a couple weeks, but I am not holding my breath.
I know this seems a bit pre mature seeing as how they're playing a mean nothing friendly against a bad team, but you have to take something away from these games, and so far, I fail to see many positives.
Having said that, FORCA PORTUGAL!!!
edit......one positive.....I love their new jerseys!!

Canada's playing Argentina right now on sportsnet!
Yup and there's the first goal for Argentina.. sucks that we have so many of our best players injured or I think the game could at least be competitive, now I just hope we keep the score somewhat respectable!

Ugly first half for England against the Mexicans. Peter Crouch has pretty much been the lone bright spot. England lead 2-1 but Mexico definitely deserved better. Glen Johnson scares the crap out of me at RB.
Well Lars Hirschfield's team is in the middle of its season unfortunately, he's easily our best keeper, Josh Wagenaar who didn't play a game this season for Falkirk who were relegated from the SPL is with the team, and there's also Haidar al-Shaibani who played a few games with Nimes in Ligue 2 this year, personally I'd have liked to see him get to play this game since he seems to have the most promise but I guess Onstad is the only one getting a regular game... and as I say that he lets in another goal he probably could have had..
As for the England game, hopefully they bring on Adam Johnson for Walcott because by all accounts he's playing like crap today (surprise, surprise)

I'd prefer to see what Lennon can do. Walcott has been giving Mexico some problems with his pace, but his crosses, decision-making, etc. have been typically poor.
Uggh, Portugal draws Cape Verde 0-0. Ugly game. Just a joke. Pretty upset right now, as I was really looking forward to this game. How sad is that, I was looking forward to a friendly versus Cape Verde??
