After skimming over the draw it looks like Federer has a relatively easier route to the finals than Nadal. Murray, Soderling and Tsonga are the only big names that stand in his way and his toughest opponent (Murray) has never made it beyond the quarters are Roland Garros.

Nadal has to get through Roddick, Djokovic and Verdasco. He also has to get through Fernando Gonzalez who made the semi's last year. I just can't see Nadal making the finals. He hasn't been the same since his injury plagued 2009. I'm going to predict a Federer v. Djokovic final with Federer destroying him.

Nadal beat Federer just last week in straight sets. I say he is the odds on favourite to win again.

My prediction is Nada in 4 sets over Federer in the finals

Nadal is an absolute monster on clay. RG is also one of the slowest surfaces (even for clay) compared to Madrid, which is about as fast as clay can get.

I'm still rooting for Federer to take it, but I think it's almost a certainty that Nadal will win once again.

It'll be interesting to see if one of the other guys can break through. Until recently, RG was famous for first time winners and upsets.

With Nadal's injuries, it's hard to say if he is a shoe-in this year. He has yet to re-gain his top form. I would've said Del Potro, but he's injured. Federer's play has been rather underwhelming so far this season, but he does tend to pick up when a Major rolls around.

I'm going off the board and I'll pick Tsonga.

Good match on now, Murray-Gasquet.

Gasquet is ahead but starting to falter a bit.

It's pretty evenly matched but Murray's in better shape and that may be the difference.

Good display of power and court coverage from both players.

Yup, conditioning was the difference. Murray made quick work of Gasquet in the fifth set.

Roddick survives a match point in the 4th set to beat Nieminen.

That was unfortunate. I really like rooting for Gasquet because of his game, and the fact that I feel like he's been undeservedly labeled a choker.

However, I wish when he was tired he didn't show it so much. Almost like he was reaching for an excuse while he's in the match.

Gasquet being labeled as a choker in the past was fully deserved in the past. He has no brain to reign in his talent. He's Marcello Rios type stupid.
He will hit idiotic impossible shots at the most important times, like down 15-30 or break point. Or up break point he'll hit an insane shot 6 feet wide to give the point away. Most frustrating player to watch of this generation. Should have been a top 5 player for years.

He didn't choke yesterday though, he just ran out of gas against a younger fitter player.

If you see Venus Williams, turn away. You have been warned.
