Hockey - do you shoot left or right?

Right handed, left shot, right in golf and ball.

I bat, play golf, tennis etc. right handed and shoot left for hockey.

I've heard that changing to left for golf is a good thing though. Apparently it helps straighten out your follow through or something like that? I am a fairly average golfer, so never felt the need to make major changes.

Am Canadian, shoot right, do everything right-handed except write and use mouse. I blame it on those 'special' lefthanded scissors they gave me to use in grade 2.

I've played hockey since I was really young and started out pretty ambidextrous at sports and I'm right handed. Eventually I shifted towards shooting right and am complete rubbish shooting left now.

I'm a right handed canadian. I shoot and golf left. I bat from either side but get more power from the right. If you can call it power I suppose. Everything else I do right handed.

right handed canadian. shoot right in hockey and golf, use my right hand for racket sports. but i bowl and swing a bat with both my left and right. i also snowboard goofy stance

I'm Left Handed, play goal catching right, but shoot right when playing defence. Golf is left and last time I tried I was batting right.

I blame it on those 'special' lefthanded scissors they gave me to use in grade 2.

I actually learned how to cut with my right hand because those scissors drive me insane.

I was just reading this thread and watching Score Golf TV Equipment special at the same time and they broke into a segment about left handed golfers. One guy said that 20% of Canadians shoot lefty in golf and less than 2% of Americans do. One guy even said it was more like 30% of Canadian golfers shoot lefty. Most of the equipment reps mentioned the hockey culture in Canada. I know with my group of friends it's damn near 50/50.

As for myself I shoot left in hockey. Right handed for golf & baseball.

Handedness actually has no bearing on goofy/regular stances.

Right handed, golf right, bat both, shoot left. I golf right because my dad never gave me the chance to try left. I remember the first time I picked up a hockey stick it wasn't a curved one so I could see which way I naturally shot.

I am right handed, but I shoot left in hockey. Oddly enough I bat right handed in baseball and hit right handed in golf. Hockey is the only one where I am left.

I'm surprised at the number of right handed shooters being a message board in Canada and all.

Righthanded Canadian.
Hockey-- left.
Golf ----- left, but putt right.
Baseball--right, but can hit left
Tennis--- right.

I'm definitely not ambidextrous though. And trying to play hockey righthanded is incredibily awkward.
