Lost my office XP CD key

Hey, quick story here, basically I had to take in my work laptop to get formatted/fixed up because some important files got corrupted. They re installed windows for me (they being an independent company) but I no longer have Office 2003.

I don't have the CD anymore either (I took over this position from a girl on her maternity leave) .. is there anyway to search for a CD key that is rightfully yours?

I really don't want to have to buy a new copy of Office when I know my bosses have already paid for one before.

How do you mean search for a key, you mean online somewhere? The laptop's been reformatted so the key is gone from there, and if you don't have the original then there's not much you can do.

The key isn't usually on the CD though, it's on a piece of paper, so maybe you still have that?

Barring all that, I'd probably just download it and use it, it's not like you can steal something you already own.

Just use your ring and make a key. Sure it'll be green and fuzzy, but it'll work.

if you had a legit office copy, just call microsoft... they keep awsome records and will give you a new cd key if you in their system.

Just to clarify, was it Office XP or Office 2003?

I got it figured out, just going to use the company key.
