weather.com slide show

http://www.weather.com/outlook/weath...how_2010-05-11

Luckily for us the Joplin area (SW Missouri) seemed to miss most of this. There were numerous systems to the north and a bunch to the south and the skinny part joining the two passed right over us.

Only had about 45 minute of thunder, lightening and 15-20 minutes of a good hard rain (about 1 inch fell in that 15 minutes).

Right now they are thinking everything will pass north of us, though they are still calling for spotters.

Changed my batteries in the weather radio last night.

You live in Joplin Ernie? I live for a couple years in Branson. My wife Danced for the Shoji Tabuchi show. We still own a house there that we cant get rid of so I wish a twister would touch down there destroy it and then go right back up !!! HAHA!

I dunno how but i was watching a press conf from the weather center and they are saying they knew these were coming. The NOAA ( storm predicting assoc or something) released a warning saying there would be a tornado outbreak in OKC metro a week before. Sat they said it would happen at 5:00 pm. Both of these came to pass which is quite amazing how accurate they are getting predicting these things!

tomorrow and thurs is supposed to have more tornados ...

However high risk of tornados again today ... I found this cool link which is our states most famous meteorologist . Gary ENgland... However they have their storm chasers out . You can see them on the map and click on their car and get streaming feeds of what they are seeing...

ahhh on my HD Video CAM .... I can upload pics of my wifes vehicles hail damage from my phone. Until then , youll have to wait til i get unlazy and find out how to take them off my cam. lol Red Dead Redemption means it wont be til at least sunday hahah

Mind you this did not happen while it was sitting in front of our house. It happend while she was driving home on the interstate. Scared the Beejeezus out of her. She actually wants to move back to Calgary and deal with Blizzards instead of tornados and hail.

OK PDDS TORNADO OUTBREAK ISSUED... PDDS= Potential Deadly Devastating Situation.

I wish you guys could see our coverage... They have helicopters in the air with HD cams, its incredible views.. There is an 8 mile wide Wall cloud that looks like its touching the ground with multiple funnels spinning. Also southWest of us heading this way the dry line is firing up and thats what produces the naders.. Of course they are heading northeast...

I think my wife had the right idea moving back to Calgary! Will try to keep you updated... If A tornado hits , maybe I can turn on my macbook webcam and record it .. ill se what i can do ..

luckily we missed the tornadic part and just got hit with all the hail and rain. as we got to the back side of the storm we did see the tornado though.

living up here we see fewer tornadoes than nicker, but still have a decent amount of warning. before i moved to the QC 3 years ago i lived in a town 45 miles south and we got hit by a 'gustnado': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustnado

it totally blew apart the building next to our house. the roof of it hit the tree in our back yard and knocked it over:

dude rob I was living in Iowa City when that happened. I was driving home from Cedar Rapids and it was hailing so bad you thought it was snowing.

Then the one that hit muscatine the year after missed my house by less then a 1/4 mile and I had an awesome dairy queen sign in my back yard.

We just had some tornadoes a couple of weeks ago here in Alabama. I went to sleep.
