I wonder by how much the Jays lead the league in homers.
Bautista just hit his second of the day.

If you have Bell all Jays games are on channel 1398 this week.
I'll be the first to admit that I never thought that the likes of Bautista, Buck, and Gonzalez would have combined for 27 home runs buy the 15th of May. When Bautista got 2.4 million for his one year deal I thought....gotta love baseball, a utility bench player who's a less than average player makes a salary like this.

What a game by romero. The jays' bullpen needed this just as bad with the early use they got in that 26 run explosion. With Marcum and he, this team is set at the top of the rotation until Morrow can figure it out and drabek arrives.
Honestly, I thought reality crept in when the jays were down 9-4 after the top of the third when Cecil was last pitching. I thought, here we go, the jays hurlers are finally going to come down to earth.
Lost in the mix of all those homeruns was the debut of our prized SS signing, Adieney Hechavarria. He had a good review from AHill who played a little with him while rehabbing. He went 1-5 with an infield single as his first pro hit. He apparently looked real "projectable" in the field.

Watching the Rays, they're garbage. And with the Red Sox struggles the Jays have a very good chance for the wildcard, keep it up!

Romero really can be one of the best in the AL when he is on...not many guys have that kind of command.

They can be caught. They can't hit a thing the last week or so, losing to strugglers like Oakland and Seattle.

as long as they keep beating the bejeesus out of the AL east, they'll do just fine.

Watching Romero and Marcum pitch this year is fun, they are amazing. Jesse Litsch is making his second start of the year tomorrow in Dunedin. He threw 7 scoreless innings with 4 hits earlier in the week. Here's hoping he's one of the guys who throw harder after Tommy John. I can not wait to see Eveland leave the rotation. At least when Morrow blows up you know there's potentially upside...
After the Jays got 16 or 17 yesterday and hit 5 bombs I almost booked the roadtrip to Seattle next week for a night and catch the 2 game series. Just looking great against the Rangers.

The thing that impresses me the most is that these players are hitting well below what they did last year.
Aaron Hill - Avg .187 (-.99), OBP .315 (-.15), Slugging .341 (-.158)
Lyle Overbay - Avg .191 (-.74), OBP .287 (-.85), Slugging .336 (-.130)
Adam Lind - Avg .224 (-.81), OBP .304 (-.66), Slugging .392 (-.170)
Considering that's supposed to be your #2, 3, and 5 hitters and they're even at .500 is amazing, let alone above.
Even if those three split the difference from their season last year and their current numbers, the jays offense is going to be much improved.

They'll improve, especially Hill and Lind but than again I don't see Buck, Gonzalez, Wells keeping up with their pace either. So it'll even out, overall its a rebuild year, hopefully Gonzalez and Buck play well enough to get a good return at the trade deadline.

FYP
Be nice if we could get a return for Wells at the deadline. Despite how well he is doing this season, that contract is a franchise crippler for someone with our payroll.
