My dad bought an Amstrad 1512 back in the mid eighties from The Brick. $2000 for that thing. It had a monochrome monitor and dual 5.25" floppy drives -woot!

Spent many hours in front of it playing Rampage, Police Quest 1-2 (Sonny Bonds woohoo!) and Kings Quest 1-3. Ahhh. Those were simple times...

I used an Apple IIe in elementary. My first computer owned was a 386 SX-16. It had a turbo button to bring it from a fast 10MHZ to a blazing 16MHZ when engaged. It had 4 MB of RAM, and an 80MB HDD. I remember trying to play Mortal Kombat on that sucker. It was not pleasant.

First computer I used was some sort of mainframe - learned how to program Fortran on it

First computer I owned was a 286 clone with 640K RAM and 40MB hard drive and a 14.4 modem -- I used it to dial into university for assignments and CUUG for usenet groups (rec.sports.hockey.clgry-flames anyone?)

My favourite thing about Windows 3.1 was how firing up the modem used to knock out the mouse.

Mmm... IRQ conflicts...

March was the 25th anniversary of the Apple LaserWriter printer.

First printer to use Adobes PostScript and revolutionized desktop publishing.

8ppm, 300dpi, $7,000. Also, it was the fastest 'computer' at the time at a whopping 12mhz.

I was a computer snob to all the C64 owners because my parents bought me a Commodore 128!!! It's sitting in my parent's basement....

The first computer *I* ever bought personally was a 486. I tried getting the chip turned into a keychain but nobody wanted to try drilling through the ceramic. So that's up in my box of memorabilia where I keep all my ticket stubs from concert's I've gone to....
