This is the sad part. Canuck fans say we don't let stuff go, yet they will get involved in the same debate with the same posters over and over on a rival board.

Why not look around where you are and just let some stuff go. I could understand the frustration if Canuck fans were actually on a Canuck board and this was happening but I'm unsure what they expect from Calgary fans. You guys can think what you like, I guess. We'll have to agree to disagree. I feel like I shouldn't be harped and piled on because some mouth breathing Canuck fan decided to come troll here and at the same time, people shouldn't be egging on and supporting the Flames fans who do the same to people who post here while supporting a different team. I feel that if the people who do come to post here legitimately didn't get trolled by certain flame fan posters on this site that there would be less Canuck trolls.

If you guys don't think that's true, then keep the vicious circle going I guess. It likely isn't gonna get better.

As for people coming over from Canucks Central, I doubt it for two reasons. The ones who would be inclined to come here and troll have already been banned and the rest don't seem to care enough. Most trolls are probably friends of people who post here who see or read something offensive or ridiculous and sign up to respond.

Blaster- consider this.....

Let's say I run a forum called "All Things Microsoft.com" Basically it's a place for computer guys to get together and discuss things going on in the computer world; with the focus being on all Microsoft products.

Now we take FanIn80*, and he comes over from "All Things Mac.com" and sees that we are often taking a pro-PC/ pro-Microsoft slant on all of our threads. We refer to Apple products as thing like the i-maxipad, etc. One would expect that he is going to get flamed about his views, and he should expect that on a Microsoft board. Maybe some of the flaming goes too far, but as a wise man often quotes on this board "if you can't handle MIGs, don't fly in MIG alley."

I've been on other team forums during the playoffs- Ducks, Sharks, and Wings. Each and every time I see stuff being posted against Calgary, but I just let it slide because I know the nature of the board is pro-another team.

What I have said in this thread about Flames fans needing to ignore Canucks trolls goes double for established members like you who are fans of other teams. You need to "get" that the Canucks will be looked down upon here- even trashed. And you just have to let that go. Ignore what you see as the "trolls." Anybody who wishes to stay and discuss hockey- you are more than welcome to do so. And we welcome opposing points of view.

Just as you wouldn't walk into a pub called "The Yellow Submarine" and complain that they play too many Beatles tunes, nor would you go to a wine tasting and get mad that they aren't serving beer, neither should you find it odd that on Calgary Puck the fans are slanted towards Calgary, and away from a rival.

So, wait. I am railing against personal attacks against people, not the team. I am fine with the Canucks being biased against and all that. It's comments calling Canucks fans names or even directly insulting Canucks fans that I have the big problem with (and have seen a lot more of). Unless you're saying that as a Canuck fan I am open game to attacks and insults and trolling and that if I reply in kind too, I'll be banned. In which case, this is likely my last post here.

Are you talking about attacks on Canucks fans personally, or the generalization of Canucks fans? I think calling a good chunk of Canucks fans classless idiots is pretty generous to Canucks fans. If someone directly attacks you then I think you're entitled to be upset.

I think it's clear that's not what he was saying. Moreover, when you see that stuff - report it.

Nothing's changed. There is no agenda to go after Canuck fans. When something is over the line - report it and we will deal with it.

If you don't think we are dealing with it adequately then you have to decide how much you want to be on this site.

I never said I thought it wasn't being dealt with adequately, recently it's been really good. I am just saying that it's a lot more common than it used to be and that sometimes it does slip under the radar.

I was listening to the Team 1260 a few weeks ago. They referred to Flames fans as a cult of creepy Sutterites. Robots who clap when told too etc. I knew what station was on my radio. I just shrugged it off. I didn't call into the next open line to 'defend the honour of my fanbase.'
